Selena Gomez Grabs The Internet's Attention In Her Robe & Not Much Else

Selena Gomez is facing a lot of accusations online that she suffered a wardrobe malfunction prior to some beauty event this week.  She shared some pictures of herself on her Instagram Story getting ready in not much but a white robe.

The images were downloaded and thrown up on all the Selena aggregator accounts on social media.  Then the claims of a wardrobe malfunction followed.  As somewhat of an expert on the matter, I reviewed similar accusations about her back in March, I wouldn't even call the latest claims a near wardrobe malfunction.

The same could not be said back in March.  The evidence I reviewed then led me to the conclusion that the pictures Selena ended up deleting were removed because the top she was wearing was hanging on for dear life - that's almost word for word what I wrote.

I don't know about the rest of the internet, but I take claims of wardrobe malfunctions very seriously.  Given that, I decided to take it upon myself on a slow Saturday in July to take a deep dive into the latest accusations against the singer and actress.

I felt an obligation to do so and to set the record straight.  It is the weekend before Selena's birthday after all and the soon-to-be 32-year-old deserves to have someone in her corner.  It looks like that someone just so happens to be me.  It's an honor I don't take lightly.

Let's take a look at the evidence, shall we?

Selena Gomez Knows How To Get The Internet Talking

As I think you can clearly see, there is no wardrobe malfunction here.  There's not even a hint of one.  What we have here are carefully choreographed images.

This isn't amateur hour.  Selena's a professional with an insane number of Instagram followers - more than 425 million.  A wardrobe malfunction indicates that a mistake was made.

There were no mistakes made here.  These images were intended to grab the internet's attention and get people talking.  Mission accomplished on that front.

But let's be responsible here and make sure we're talking about the correct things.  There was no wardrobe malfunction.

Happy birthday, Selena.  It was an honor setting the record straight here.
