NIGHTMARE FUEL! 'Saw' Horror Movies Are Now Available On Disney+ For Kids To Watch
Parents may want to keep an extra close eye on their children and teenagers the next time they're scrolling through on their Disney+ app, because it may bring a night full of nightmares. That, or maybe even therapy for the next couple of years!
That's because not only will little Johnny and Sally be able to watch and singalong to Frozen for the millionth time, but now they'll be able to happily skip on over to the unbelievably horrific Saw movie franchise within seconds.
You all remember the Saw movies - the one with the creepy masked kid riding a tricycle while saying, "I want to play a game." The original movie's trailer shocked audiences after learning the premise - the lead actor had to SAW his own leg off in order to escape a booby-trapped, gory room full of things that even writing about now is making me cringe.
DISNEY+ AND HULU ARE COMBINING CONTENT CHOICES
Yes, that Saw movie franchise - all SEVEN FILMS, are now freely streaming on the Disney+ app thanks to the company's recent streamline to try and maximize audience engagement on both Disney-owned platforms. As a result of Disney's $8.6 billion takeover purchase of Hulu last year, subscribers who have accounts on both platforms will see their searches and many TV and movie options appear on both.
That may have sounded good at the time, but so does wanting to go on the Disney World Tea Cups until you end up ready to hurl from nonstop spinning. The same thing is happening here, except at least when you choose to go on a ride you know what you're getting yourself into. Here, however, parents may have no idea. Right now, when a child is browsing to look for Hocus Pocus, sure enough, right next to it will be the Saw movies.
Oh, it's Brandon's birthday today? Ask him what month coincides with it off the chart!
There's been no official word from Disney or Hulu how they plan on fixing the issue. Other Hulu films that freely appear on Disney+ also included Alien vs Predator. Take a search around this weekend and I'm sure you'll find some Rated R gems that have no business whatsoever of being on a Disney platform.
To answer Saw's main villain, a character named ‘Jigsaw’ question? No, parents do no want to "play that game."
