Salma Hayek Gets Destroyed By Waves For World Oceans Day

Do you have a cause or a day set aside for something that almost nobody is aware of?  Well, I've got some good news for you if you're looking for a way to bring some attention to it.

Call up Salma Hayek and have the 57-year-old actress put on some swimwear, grab someone with a camera, and create some content to raise awareness.  It's really as simple as that.

Yesterday was apparently something called "World Oceans Day."  I don't know about you, but I've never heard of it.  According to the internet, it's a date set aside to honor, protect, and conserve the world's oceans.

It's been recognized by the global overlords at the United Nations since 2008.  To the surprise of nobody, they haven’t been doing a great job at spreading the word.  There's no chance they could match what Salma did for the day on Saturday.

She did all of the above - put on her swimwear, grabbed someone with a camera, and created some content for it.  This was a job for a one-piece swimsuit as her version of raising awareness was to get destroyed by wave after wave.

Salma then slapped the caption "Happy World Oceans Day! 🌊💙 ¡Feliz Día Mundial de los Océanos! 🌊💙" on the content and fired it off to her more than 28 million followers.

Salma Hayek Knows How To Raise Awareness

You wouldn’t expect anything less from Salma Hayek.  She loves the water and making bikini content to accompany her many trips to the ocean.

There's nothing worse than a celebrity getting behind a cause that you know means almost nothing to them.  That can't be said here.

I'm still not sure what is accomplished by World Oceans Day.  Again, I'd never heard of it before Salma popped up on my feed getting thrashed by waves.

That said, there was at least one positive to come from this year's World Oceans Day.  That's Salma using it as an excuse to put on a swimsuit and hit the water.
