Republican Gets Booed At Convention Over Detroit Lions Comment

There's no offseason in the NFC North.

Just ask Rep. John James (R-MI) who rolled into the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee puffing out his chest a little bit and dropping a line like he was straight from the NFL Draft in Detroit.

"Good evening, Wisconsin," James began his remarks on night one of the convention. "Warmest regards, warmest regards from Detroit – home of the NFC North Champion Detroit Lions!"

Annnnnnnddddd that's it, political party affiliations were thrown right out the window at the RNC. Those were fighting words to the locals.

BOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Before Jared Goff and the Lions got the job done this past season, the team had not won a division title since 1993. James, who represents Michigan's 10th Congressional district, which includes the northern Detroit suburbs of Rochester Hills, St. Clair Shores, Sterling Heights, Warren and Mt. Clemens, was in 5th or 6th grade in 1993.

Of course the guy is walking around with a swagger right now. The Packers have won 15 division titles since 1993.

This guy, who served eight years in the Army (Apache pilot), went to Milwaukee on a mission to be heard.

Now I just need to figure out if John James navigated a boat across Lake Michigan to the convention. Talk about swagger rolling into a convention? This would be an all-time move.
