Man Asks How To Win Big In Las Vegas, Gets Incredible Responses

How do you win big in Las Vegas?

As OutKick readers know, I'm a huge fan of Vegas, and I have a trip coming up soon. I absolutely can't wait to be back in Sin City.

It's the greatest location in America when it comes to gambling, drinking with the boys and having some fun. Everyone wants to be a winner at the tables, and that leads me to an awesome Reddit thread.

Man receives awesome answers after asking how to win big in Las Vegas.

A Reddit thread titled "Turning $4k Into Big Bucks" is about exactly what it sounds like, and the post states the following:

"Curious about different ideas to "hit it big" when I go to Vegas.. I know, scared money don't make money, but my gambling budget is likely going to be $4k.. what would you do to try and 2X, 3X, 5X, 10X, or even 100X your money? I know some slots have mega-jackpot type payouts, but also the worst odds in a casino? how would you try to hit it big?"

He wants to win it big! I'm sure he's the first guy who has ever gone to Las Vegas hoping to score a big bag. The responses are 100% worth your time. Check out some below, and hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com:

  • The casinos thank you for your donation.
  • Could just hand it to the first casino employee you'll see. Your going to lose it anyway.
  • Roulette, one bet on red or black.
  • Baccarat is just better in every way for this.
  • Take it to a bank and put it in a CD. It is a sure thing.
  • Take that money to Pahrump and get yourself 4 ladies at the same time.
  • I used to deal table games (not in Vegas). Every once in awhile I'd see someone turn a few hundred into a few thousand, I have many more stories about people turning a few hundred into zero. One of the women worked with turned 30k into zero. That said I went to Vegas and thought it was my turn. I started betting $50 a hand on blackjack. It was almost comical how fast I lost $500. That is money I could have used for pretty much anything better than 90 seconds at a blackjack table
  • When you get to Vegas, go to the business center inside the hotel. Open up a Robinhood account and put it in some stocks. That’s your best odds in Vegas. Good luck.
  • Stay away from slots.
  • If I wanted to try to win big I'd probably play craps, hope for a 40 minute roll, and press my bets like crazy.
  • Low house edge games and bets (good blackjack and video poker games) are low risk and low return. They are not going to double, triple or 10x your money. The ones that could possibly do that are the high risk and high house edge bets like betting a single number in roulette. It sounds like you're looking for high risk/high return type situations. But those are also high chance of losing your budget. Craps might be a good compromise. It doesn't have a high house edge if you stick with pass/no pass bets. But you can also play the spots in the middle that are riskier and higher house edge but could possibly give you a big win in the short run. Plus a lot of people seem to have fun playing it.
  • Accept the fact you will propose it all and plan accordingly.
  • 1 hand of Blackjack, then hang at the pool for the rest of your trip. Go with the expectation of losing your money. You sound a bit greed driven, so I expect you will win your hand of Blackjack and figure, why quit while I'm ahead and lose it all on the next hand.
  • You can easily turn your money into 5x wagers, which will mean nice comp offers. Now, you could do that losing all your money, breaking even or winning. At the end of the day, you should expect to lose all of it, and if you win, or break even, great. No matter what happens, use your players card and you’ll get great offers with that budget.
  • Slots are for the birds. If I was trying to make money from gambling, I'd stick to blackjack. If I had that bankroll and looking to have fun, I'd play craps and press like crazy. You might get hot and win a bunch. Just assume you'll lose it all though. House always has the odds. Good luck and have fun.
  • 2 hands of blackjack. 4k->8k->16k. Enjoy the pool after that.
  • One bet. Everything on 11. Go big, then go home.

Allow me to give you all some free advice. Don't gamble money you can't afford to lose, stick to a budget after setting it and find some cheaper places to play where your bankroll goes a longer way.

The two places I always recommend for cheap gambling are Ellis Island and El Cortez. Ellis Island is a cheat code in Las Vegas. Cheap table games, cheap drinks and great food.

However, your mindset has to be correct, or it's not going to matter. If you go to Las Vegas expecting to win, then you're likely going to be very disappointed.

Those massive casinos weren't built by winners. They were built by people losing billions of dollars every year.
