There's One Hit TV Show Everyone Needs To Be Watching

"Presumed Innocent" has had an epic run ahead of the finale.

The hit Apple TV+ series wraps up season one this Wednesday, and it's easily one of the best shows of 2024. The show is based on a book by Scott Turow that was already turned into a film with Harrison Ford.

I haven't read the book or seen the movie, but I knew I had to give it a shot as soon as I saw the trailer for the series with Jake Gyllenhaal.

Now, with just the season finale left, I can say it's 100% worth your time and attention.

"Presumed Innocent" is an awesome series.

Without getting into spoilers (you all know my anti-spoilers policy), the plot is actually not overly difficult to explain.

District attorney's office member Carolyn Polhemus was murdered in brutal fashion, and the prosecution is locked in on Rusty Sabich (Gyllenhaal) as the killer.

Sabich - who admits to having an affair with Carolyn - denies having anything to do with her death, but nothing is what it appears to be on the surface.

He was obsessed with her, lied about it to his wife and definitely believes he's the smartest man in the room. That sets up a fun dynamic in court with prosecutor Tommy Molto.

Where "Presumed Innocent" is at its best is the back and forth in court, including the last episode to air where Molto and Sabich battle it out on the stand.

I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, and I truly have absolutely no clue who killed Carolyn. I'm not even sure it honestly matters because Sabich might be cooked anyway with the jury.

The fact viewers still don't know who the killer is going into the finale only raises the stakes and intrigue. Peter Sarsgaard deserves a huge shoutout for his performance as Molto. I can't remember the last time we saw a character on TV that was so sinister, despite being in a traditional good guy role. I think there's a serious chance he could be the killer, but I can't say much more on that front!

The season one finale airs Wednesday on Apple TV+, and that means you still have time to catch up. I suggest you do because "Presumed Innocent" is one of the most entertaining shows we've had in a long time. Let me know your thoughts (no spoilers!) at David.Hookstead@outkick.com
