Paige Spiranac & The Instagram Models Celebrate The 4th, Nathan's Hot Dog Puker & Back Up Terry Checks In
4th of July reports from across the United States and beyond
I can report that I'm not hungover, I have all 10 fingers and I still had a great time with the family over the holiday. The weather sucked. It was cloudy until 8:30 which ruined the pool vibe, but the kids went hard, the adults relaxed and it ended up positive for all involved.
Now it's back to work to finish the week strong. I don't know how some of you are going to do it come Monday morning when you have to get back to it after a five-day weekend. I'm told there might be a couple of dads in the neighborhood who got into the Tito's and strawberry lemonade on Wednesday night that could be in trouble Monday morning.
Let's just say Sunday better be a recovery day for many of you.
Quick observation:
- The $50 box of fireworks that Costco sold was PERFECT. There must've been 5,000 black cats stuffed into those tubes and boxes. There might not have been projectiles going above the treeline, but Screencaps Jr. was happy with the explosions, so everything worked out well here with the simple Costco box. Yes, most of the explosions were similar, but I appreciated the volume of action. It turns out the $5 chicken & $1.50 hot dog combo aren't the only value purchases at Costco.
- Duncan survived the hurricane in Jamaica:
We survived Beryl! Lots of trees down, but hundreds of resort guests helped with the clean up. I rewarded myself with a few frozen lemonades with Tito’s. Happy Birthday America!
- Tom from Clarksville, OH "where we cut the stripes that make the young girls cry," writes:
First time writing in, so appreciate that you and the whole of the TNML nation love our country and lay down excellence with every stripe. We had a bit of a total washout here in Clarksville, OH, so we did not get to carve our normal HUGE USA sign into our lawn, but we did snap a few pictures to pass along to your followers. We take our stripes seriously here in Clarksville and we love our country. Happy 4th!

Do hard things:
2024 Peachtree Road Race
How it started: hot and humid
How it ended: Code Black (!!) All post race activities cancelled due to extreme temperatures.
I’d like to thank @adidas for the tires; @MonsterEnergy, @powerade, #Desani for fuel and last but not least @Quiktrip for post race refreshments.
Happy July 4th
- Galen in Johnson City, TN shares:
The City of Johnson City, along with the American Legion, erected a 100 ft flag pole with a 20 ft x 30 ft flag being raised on it. It is located atop Tannery Knob Mountain Bike Park at the eastern edge of downtown JC. Anyone else got mountain biking in their downtown?
The 4th was the first official day of Old Glory waving over my hometown and it was beautiful. I am blessed to be from a city that loves and respects this wonderful country of ours!
- Kevin in Toboso writes:
Sitting here today reflecting on our great nation and listening to Toby Keith's COTRW&B , one of the greatest we will kick your ass songs ever and am thankful, proud and humbled for the men and women who have sacrificed to make this the greatest country ever! With all our issues (Biden = budlight) we still have it better than everyone else.
Ooh-Raah to those who those have made it possible!
God Bless America

- Tim in Texas City was on the move this week:
Cheers and happy 4th from some fairly sketchy, random neighborhood pub called The Red Beret that I just wandered to near the Manchester (that's Manchester, 1776 Losers) Airport during a one night stay while I eagerly await my flight home tomorrow after an 18 day trek trough Ireland, Scotland and the UK. Fire off an extra artillery shell off for me tonight!
- Mark W. shares a view from his neck of the woods:
Our "Pride" flags are flying on my street. Damn straight I am proud of the greatest country in the world and the men and women who made it that way.
Have a safe and happy 4th, Joe.

Here's a couple of pictures from the parade in Comfort, TX earlier today. I hope everyone is enjoying this day celebrating the best country in the world.

And that's it for one of the hardest Fridays on the job calendar. We will push on and see where this day takes us. Good luck to those of you hitting the golf courses, firing up the boats and getting into something fun.
Send reports. Tell your fellow Screencaps readers what kind of fun you're getting into this weekend. #staysafe
