NPR Correspondent Calls To End Policing And 911 Calls Due To 'Racism'

We hadn't heard much from NPR since April when veteran editor turned whistleblower Uri Berliner spoke aloud about the "left-wing bias" he believes permeates the newsroom.

Specifically, Berliner published a guest article for The Free Press in which he documents how NPR willfully ignored the Hunter Biden laptop story ahead of the 2020 election at the risk of spreading a story that could help Donald Trump win the election.

However, the outlet is back in the news this week following a report from Fox News Digital regarding correspondent Gene Demby.

Per the report, Demby, a black man, is focused on telling purportedly "Black Truths" at NPR's culture wing where he espouses leftist views, including that America is "a country that's built and defined by white supremacy."

Demby refers to himself on X as "The LeBron James of Pig Feet." He maintains that American police do not prevent crime but rather perpetuate "racist state violence."

The NPR correspondent has long called for the government to destroy the law enforcement complex in America, believing it to be irreparably racist and beyond any reform.

Demby pointed out that his perspective differs from the activists who call for "reform." He does not support police reform. He supports abolishing the police force.

"There are people pushing for defunding [because] it rolls back policing and other people pushing for defunding [because] that's the practical way to abolition," Demby said in an X post in 2020, per the FNC report. "[The movement] IS abolish the police."

"'Reform' is different from abolition because it's based on the idea that policing should exist, but simply modified – with more diverse police forces, with diff[erent] training, etc. But none of that interrupts the imperatives of policing."

Demby claimed police have very little "vital function" in society.

"The police don't solve violent crimes effectively. They don't prevent crimes They don't de-escalate situations, and they put people in contact with the criminal justice system for being poor. How are they helpful? What vital function do they serve besides social control?" he continued in the same thread.

In addition, Demby says the American public is just as racist as the police – particularly those who call 911.

"Every time the police have contact with Black people during some bulls--t traffic stop or some jumpy gentrifier calls 911, the prospect of state violence -- up to and including deadly force -- is on the table," he wrote via another tweet.

"The most direct way to keep Black folks from being killed by cops is to stop those unnecessary encounters. It takes off the table the bias in police imperatives, among individual officers, and among a racist public who use 911 like a customer service Hotline."

Got that? If a black person breaks into your home, assaults you, or threatens your family – it's racist for you to call the police.

Demby clarified to an X user that he advocates for "no policing" in the U.S. – in case anyone didn't get the hint.

Fox News Digital contacted NPR for comment about the correspondent but did not receive a response.

Remember that NPR employs jokers like Gene Demby when you read the outlet for election coverage. Also, remember that your tax payments help pay the salaries of looney tunes like Demby.
