North Korea Just Executed Someone For Listening to K Pop

North Korea has publicly executed a 22-year-old man because he was listening to some K Pop music.

K Pop, short for Korean Pop is one of the largest music genres in the world - thanks to artists like BTS and Blackpink.

However, it appears that North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un prefers some other type of music - as the unnamed individual was publicly executed for listening to 70 songs and distributing them around town.

I mean, I'm not the biggest K Pop fan whatsoever, but to end someone's life over it? Nothing to twerk to about that, Kim.

VICTIM ALLEGEDLY LISTENED TO K POP MUSIC

It's unclear if the man knew that he was even breaking the law. In recent months, the communist regime has implemented a variety of restrictions and bans including K Pop Music, as an effort to protect North Koreans from the "malign influence" of the West.

I'm not quite sure how K Pop artists like BTS and their hit song "Butter" fall into that, especially when their lyrics are pretty lame:

Ooh, when I look in the mirror
I'll melt your heart into two
I got that superstar glow, so
Ooh (do the boogie, like)

Maybe Kim Jong Un doesn't like to boogie down?

NORTH KOREA'S RIDICULOUS BANS

Other anti-Western laws include the banning of skinny jeans and certain haircuts, which means me and my fellow Emo's will not be heading over there anytime soon. Jong Un hates the jeans so much that he actually had a gardening show blurring them out while the person was planting flowers.

Ya know, completely normal and not crazy whatsoever behavior from the dictatorship.

Oh, my bad. I forgot that North Korea has been filling balloons with feces and sewage and floating them over the border to South Korea in an attempt to dirty their streets and ruin their day.

(To be honest, that's a damn good prank that I may have to use sometime. And for the South Koreans, I'm sure the annoyance of poop-filled balloons is a heck of a lot better than the alternative, which could be missiles.)

But this K Pop thing really has me wondering - what type of music do we think Kim Jong Un listens to?  Maybe some Enya? Taylor Swift? Gangster wrap? Morgan Wallen? The possibilities are endless!
