Nina Agdal Returns To Sports Illustrated Swimsuit For 60th Anniversary Issue
Nina Agdal is back. The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit legend who last appeared in an issue of the magazine back in 2017 will appear in the 60th anniversary edition.
SI Swimsuit made the announcement on Monday on social media. They said of the former Rookie of the Year's return, "SHE’S BACK! SI Swimsuit L E G E N D @ninaagdal is making her return for the 60th anniversary issue!"
"Nina first made her debut in 2012 with photographer @jamesmacari where she earned Rookie of the Year honors, continued on to appear in the issue for six consecutive years and even landed the cover of the 50th anniversary issue!," the announcement continued.
"Most recently she continued her legacy by traveling to @travelbelize where she and @derekkettela 'captured some really beautiful moments.'"
On Tuesday, SI Swimsuit shared some more about Agdal's return, including a quote from the 32-year-old about her return. She said, "It’s been so fun to be back with the team. I kind of forgot how much it just feels like a work family."
Agdal, who is pregnant with Logan Paul's child, added, "You’re just being supported by everyone around you and you’re able to be yourself and not have to worry about anything."
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Put Nina Agdal On The Map
Agdal is the only Sports Illustrated Swimsuit legend expected to make their return. Names like Lily Aldridge, Kate Upton and Hailey Clauson, to name a few, met up back in March for a legends photo shoot.
Whether they all get back in a swimsuit is a different story. We know Nina Agdal did for the magazine she credits with putting her on the map.
"Oh my God, it completely changed everything. After I appeared on Sports Illustrated, I remember I would walk down the street and people would recognize me. They would say my name. In Denmark, where I’m from, it was a huge deal. SI Swimsuit has this incredible power of putting someone on the map," she told FOX News back in 2021.
"They gave me the confidence and the power to build something for myself. We’ve seen so many powerful women appear in that magazine who later become entrepreneurs and so much more. I truly think it’s just the secret, spicy ingredient that I will always carry."
Agdal will evidently continue to carry that "spicy ingredient" with her and go back to top it off every now and again too. Good for her.
Let's hope we're all still around for the 70th anniversary and that it hasn’t been completely turned into a purple-haired freak show by then.
