New Scooby-Doo Animated Prequel Series on HBO Max Focuses On Velma
With more people staying at home looking to stay safe and avoid contracting the COVID-19 virus, more television companies and services are taking chances to create more interesting content.
The latest content that has fans excited has to do with Scooby-Doo. Today, HBO announced it's going to launch a 10-episode animated comedy series focused on Velma.
According to the release, the show will be geared towards adults and feature the “unsung and underappreciated brains” of the Scooby-Doo gang. It will also “unmask the complex and colorful past of one of America’s most beloved mystery solvers.”
The main character will be voiced by none other than Mindy Kaling of The Office and Inside Out, among other movies and television shows.
While Kaling will serve as the main voice for the series, she will also serve as the show's executive producer, along with Charlie Grandy, Howard Klein and Sam Register.
However, this is not the only series in the works at HBO Max.
The service said that they are going to launch a new series called Fired on Mars and a Clone High reboot, which will feature the voice of Pete Davidson of Saturday Night Live fame.
There's no word on when any of the new animated series will officially launch, but it sounds like they will be ready to stream at some point in 2021.
