Natalie Portman Is Officially Back On The Market After Finalizing Her Divorce Following A Rumored Affair
It's official, Natalie Portman is back on the market. The rumors of troubles in her marriage were apparently true, with the actress filing for divorce from French dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied in July 2023.
The couple's divorce was reportedly finalized in February in France. They married in 2012 and have two children together. Their troubles started back in 2022, according to Page Six. The two separated that year, but managed to work things out and get back together.
Then, in June 2023, a rumored affair on Millepied's part made headlines. That's right, Natalie Portman's husband was accused of cheating on her. The other woman was a 25-year-old climate activist.
Who would have thought that was even possible? Her role as Padme had landed her on the Mount Rushmore of Star Wars babe moments after all. If that's not enough to protect one from extramarital activities, nobody is safe.
At the time, a source said, "They have not split and are trying to work things out. Ben is doing everything he can to get Natalie to forgive him. He loves her and their family."
A Natalie Portman Revenge Tour, However Unlikely, Would Be Fun To Watch
It looks as if Ben's efforts to convince Natalie to forgive him came up short. She wasn't falling for all the "he was doing important work to save the planet" talk. Those kinds of carbon footprint excuses aren't going to fly.
Now it's back to living a life in obscurity as a dancer and choreographer. There's plenty of time to save the planet by hooking up with young climate activists when he's not on dad duty.
As for Portman, she can do whatever she wants next. I'd recommend getting a little outside of her comfort zone and letting loose on an old school revenge tour. There's nothing better than riding one through the summer.
That doesn't seem likely, but nobody would blame her if she went down that path. Sometimes it's the only way to wash the stink off of a marriage that ended because of an affair.
Either way, we here at the OutKick Culture Department wish her the best of luck.
