Murderer Joran Van Der Sloot Seen In Video With His Prison Soccer Team, 'The Clockwork Orange'
Murderer Joran van der Sloot wants you to know he's alive and kicking in the most literal way imaginable after reports that he was on the receiving end of a nasty beating in a Peruvian prison.
According to The New York Post, Van Der Sloot — who killed Peruvian heiress Stephany Flores and admitted to having killed American Natalie Holloway in Aruba back in 2005 — was reported to have been sent to the prison infirmary recently after being beaten by fellow inmates in a common area inside Peru's Challapalca Prison where he is serving a 28-year sentence for murder. An anonymous prison official even told the outlet that, "A lot of people want him dead."
However, van der Sloot's attorney Maximo Altez told Fox News Digital that his client was no worse for wear. He called reports of the beating "fake news."
"He's fine," Altez said.
And just to dispel any arguments to the contrary, he also sent a video of van der Sloot playing soccer with his prison team, "La Mechanica Naranja."
That name translates to "The Clockwork Orange" which was a nickname for the 1974 Dutch national soccer team and van der Sloot is Dutch.
However, it also is the name of a movie and book about a gang of criminals who commit horrific acts.
So, it works on a couple of levels.
Van der Sloot can be seen in the video towering over his fellow Droogies, which does kind of make you wonder how many of his fellow Peruvian inmates it'd take to bring him down. The Dutchman stands at 6-foot-5.
But where there's a will there's a way and a lot of people have that will. According to Emil Quinones who spent some time in an Alabama prison with van der Sloot last year, he's not exactly Mr. Popular in the ol' Gray Bar Hotel.
"Arrogant, cocky, just a total douchebag," Quiñones said. "He walks around jail like he’s the boss. Demands what he wants, treats other guys like s—t. He made a lot of enemies because he’s such an a--hole."
There are understandably not a lot of van der Sloot fans in prison… or out of prison, for that matter.
