MSNBC Is An Embarrassment, Even For The American Left | Bobby Burack
MSNBC is the most divisive and propagandistic brand in corporate media.
The network's coverage of the attempted assassination of Donald Trump and the 2024 election cycle underscores how out of touch with reality MSNBC truly is.
MSNBC does not cater to left-leaning viewers anymore. The channel panders to extremists, leftists on the fringe.
Let us start with Joy Reid, the nastiest pundit in all of television.
She started off the week by suggesting Trump "bore the consequences" of "promoting" violence during a discussion about the assassination attempt.
"Political violence … it's so dangerous that you cannot avoid the consequences of it, even if you're one of the people promoting it," Reid said about the shooting.
Next, while co-anchoring the channel's coverage of the Republican National Convention, Reid then argued if Joe Biden could recover from his latest case of Covid that it should be seen as a sign of strength – on the same level as Trump surviving a gunshot to his face.
We kid you not:
On Thursday, Reid implied in a social media video that a bullet never struck Trump and that the whole shooting was staged.
"I have many questions! 🙋🏾Like where are the medical reports? What caused Trump’s injury and what was the injury? Shrapnel? Glass? A bullet? Where were the three attendees who were shot seated or standing relative to Trump?
"Why was Trump allowed to stand and pose for photos, fist pumping for nearly ten seconds while asking about his shoe when there could easily have been additional shooters? How did the gunman manage to get on the roof of the building WHERE THE LOCAL POLICE WERE LITERALLY INSIDE?"
OutKick asked MSNBC if it had a comment on Reid pushing the officially debunked "teleprompter theory." Unfortunately, the network did not respond.
If Joy Reid were not a black woman, she would have been fired years ago – specifically, after she posted homophobic comments to her blog and laughably blamed the posts on a "hacker."
Rachel Maddow, who is slightly less bigoted than Reid and significantly more successful, also put on her journalism cap for the RNC. Notably, Maddow connected JD Vance liking "Lord of the Rings" to an affinity for the far right.
Per Maddow:
"Mr. Vance then was able to go and start another venture capital firm with, surprise, yet more help from Peter Thiel. Like Mr. Thiel, who has named his companies after things in the Lord of the Rings series of J.R.R. Tolkien books. Lord of the Rings is a sort of favorite cosmos for naming things and cultural references for a lot of far right and alt right figures, both in Europe and the United States. Peter Thiel names all these things after Tolkien figures in places like his company Palantir, for example."
"Like his mentor, like Peter Thiel, who had given him all his jobs in the world, Mr. Vance also when he founded his own venture capital firm with help from Peter Thiel, named it after a Lord of the Rings thing. He called it Narya, N-A-R-Y-A, which you can remember because it’s Aryan, but you move the n to the front," she continued. "Apparently that word has something to do with elves and rings from the Lord of the Rings series, I don’t know."
Does that make "Game of Thrones" far-left? We just ask the questions.
And we have more questions.
On Wednesday, Rachel Maddow's backup Alex Wagner accused Vance of dropping an "easter egg of white nationalism" by mentioning that he hoped to be buried in his family’s plot in Kentucky.
This is not satire. We assure you.
According to Wagner:
"I know that there was not the same red meat, sort of blood and soil nationalism that you might hear in, I don’t know, other parallel universe Republican conventions, but I do think there were some sort of Easter eggs of white nationalism in the speech.
"One of the things that stuck out to me was when he started talking about what America is, he said that ‘America is not just an idea, it is a group of people with a shared history and a common future.’ The thing about America is that it’s not a group of people with shared history. In fact, I think a lot of people would argue it’s quite the opposite. It’s a lot of people with different histories, different heritages."

How about MSNBC host Michael Steele, who frequently accuses MAGA Republicans of spreading baseless conspiracy theories?
"It’s been three days — going on four — since this horrific event occurred," Steele said on the network Tuesday.
"A person lost their life, two have been severely injured. And yet we’ve not received a medical report from the hospital, nor have we received a medical report from the campaign or from the Trump Organization about the extent of the damage to his ear. If he was shot by a high-caliber bullet, there should probably be very little ear there. And so we’d like to know that. Is there cosmetic surgery involved? What is the prognosis for recovery? Were there stitches? What is the extent and nature of the damage to his ear?"
It's as if there is a bet about who can perform the most batty skit and get away with it.
Apparently, MSNBC hosts can get away with quite a bit. Unless, of course, they are Joe Scarborough.
MSNBC pulled "Morning Joe" from the air on Monday, reportedly out of fear a cast member would say something "irresponsible" about the assassination attempt.
Scarborough has since called out his bosses on-air.
"We were very surprised," Scarborough said on Tuesday. "We were very disappointed. And if we had known that there wasn’t going to be the one news feed from NBC News across all NBC News channels, Willie [Geist], we obviously would have been in yesterday morning."
What a mess. What a clown show. What a joke of a "news" organization.
No wonder MSNBC's ratings continue to tank. The network is embarrassing, even for the American Left.
