MMA Fighter Mike Dragich Continues To Keep Florida's Streets Clear Of Alligators

Are wild alligators terrorizing your Florida town? Sounds like you need to give Mike Dragich a call.

An MMA fighter and Marine Corps veteran, Dragich recently made headlines for subduing an 8-foot gator with his bare hands after it ran into busy traffic in Jacksonville. Dragich effortlessly hopped on the alligator’s back, taped its mouth shut, picked it up and carried it off the road — all with his bare hands.

"I was actually at the Jacksonville Icemen hockey game with my kids and my father-in-law, and I had to leave mid-game," Dragich later told WJXT. "I got the phone call that it was an emergency alligator situation. I leave, I respond to catch the alligator. I get the job done, and I headed right back."

But Dragich isn't just out here winging it. He's actually a licensed alligator trapper. He calls himself the "Blue Collar Brawler" on Instagram, and he posts a lot of videos of himself wrestling and capturing the giant reptiles. He regularly gets calls asking him to clear "nuisance alligators" — defined by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission as "at least 4 feet in length" and "posing a threat to people, pets or property."

Like the 10-foot gator Dragich caught at a Jacksonville elementary school last June. That one put up a much bigger fight and was significantly more terrifying than the little guy above.

Watch.

In the interview with WJXT, Dragich explained the method behind his madness.

"Normally, you have to get the alligator out of the water and usually with a treble hook, an offshore fishing rod," he explained. "You have to get them tired, pull them up on the shore, and then detain them that way.

"Once you get the alligator tired, you can jump on them and kind of control them really well and put tape around their jaws and get them out of there."

See, guys? It's that easy!

(Just kidding. Before I get a call from our lawyers, I beg you, please do not jump on an alligator.)
