Air Force combat controllers are capable of working under intense pressure on very short notice.

Former Air Force combat controller Mike Lamonica recently joined me on American Joyride to discuss his career and what being a CCT entails. The short answer is they fuse air power with the guys on the ground, but it's obviously much more complex than that.

Mike shared a story about how he helped coordinate a rescue following a helicopter crash in Afghanistan and also getting a sick soldier out.
