Mikayla Demaiter Melts Away Winter, Marissa Lawrence Continues To Dominate Cabo & The Mets Have A Dance Team
This is March
I had the multiview going on my YouTube TV yesterday for most of the evening with four games filling up the screen. There was wall-to-wall college basketball and it was awesome.
I announced that this is March when my wife asked if I was watching four basketball games at once. Most of the time, she has no idea what I'm talking about. This was no exception.
A couple of games worth noting were tight at the end and giving off early March Madness vibes. No. 1 Houston survived, 87-85, against the Sooners in Oklahoma thanks to Cougars guard Jamal Shead, who hit the game-winner with less than a second left.
That was a game that was begging for a court storming. Assuming, of course, the good folks in Oklahoma aren't too uptight to storm a court.
The other game that was going down to the wire in a separate box was the game between No. 4 Tennessee and No. 14 Alabama. The game was relatively close until the Volunteers pulled away and left with an 81-74 win.
There's a new 40-yard dash record
College basketball wasn't the only thing going on yesterday and, thanks to social media, I know that there's a new record holder for running 40 yards in a straight line without any pads or any obstacles.
That's right, Xavier Worthy now holds the new 40-yard dash record. The wide receiver out of Texas set the new time to beat, 4.21 seconds, at the NFL combine on Saturday.
Congratulations. I'm sure that will translate into a dominant NFL career. Let's take a look at the NFL career of the guy whose record Worthy beat.
John Ross played five seasons in the NFL and a total of 37 games. He finished his career with 62 catches, 957 yards and 11 touchdowns.
He's 28-years-old and hasn't played in the league since 2021. I'm not saying that Worthy is destined to have a similar illustrious career.
What I am saying is maybe running 40 yards in a straight line faster than anyone else is a touch overrated.

Loved it, been re-watching some old episodes on Pluto TV. Hit the Jackpot last night with 'Best Of" episode.
It's a fascinating show. I'm going to have to go back and watch some of those old episodes. I forgot how hilarious it was until I looked up that clip yesterday morning.
UFO in Ukraine
Soldiers doing some reconnaissance in Ukraine with a thermal imaging drone spotted a disc-shaped UFO hovering in the sky. They caught it all on video and have no idea what it is.
"What the f-[expletive] is this? Why isn't it moving?" men in Ukraine's 406th Battalion can be heard saying about the object that's just hanging out in the sky.
"I’m telling you, it’s a UFO, for sure. It’s standing still. Zoom in more, it’s standing still. Do you see? Can’t see anything on the thermal cameras. Maybe ram it?"
This isn't the first report of UFOs in Ukraine either. Back in 2022, astronomers reported seeing dozens of what are described as "phantom" UFOs. They said that the objects "cannot be scientifically identified."
But Ukraine isn't the only place with weird things in the skies. Right here in the United States there are some bizarre things taking place in the sky.
Green lasers were spotted in the sky in Texas during a recent storm. Is it UFOs? Did someone fake a video for attention? Is the government messing around with the weather?
There are so many questions that need answers after this video went viral.
Send any answers or similar type of bizarre things to sean.joseph@outkick.com.
The Mets have a dance team
In other news, the New York Mets have found a brilliant way to distract their fans during what promises to be another disappointing season. Mr. and Mrs. Met just aren't cutting it anymore.
The Mets are apparently getting a dance team.
A new member of the dance team took to her Instagram with the happy news. She said, "BEYOND excited to announce I will be a part of the first ever NY Mets Dance Team!! Looking forward to this new opportunity!"
There were a lot of jokes made about the Mets new dance team. I'm not going to make any. I think it's a great idea. When your team needs pitching, add a dance team and see if anyone notices.
Don't worry, the team owner will be out on social media defending the move. Not against criticism about the team's lack of pitching, but against other more pressing opinions.
That's all I've got for this Sunday morning. Have a great Sunday. It's overcast and rainy here (hope that clears up), but hopefully you're enjoying sunny spring-like weather wherever you are.
