'Mighty Ducks' Reboot Pulls Goldberg The Goalie
What is The Mighty Ducks without Goldberg? Well, we are about to find out.
There's an upcoming reboot of the hockey movie franchise, and Shaun Weiss isn't currently scheduled to reprise his role as the team's goalie. The 10-episode TV series has already wrapped up its production, so there's no hope of a return in this initial run.
Weiss is still holding out hope for an eventual return, according to Complex.
Let's hope so. Goldberg was one of the best characters, and Weiss seems to have his life back on track. After some struggles with drug addiction and other criminal mischief, the childhood actor has gotten his life back together.
We recently wrote about Weiss celebrating one year of sobriety back in January.
It's understandable why there would be some hesitation to include him, especially if filming had already wrapped prior to that one year mark. But it's time. If this reboot lasts more than 10 episodes, Goldberg has to be included.
Like Weiss, we're hoping they make the right choice and bring our boy back.
