Media's New Faux Warning: Donald Trump Is Going To Put Us In Camps If Elected President Again

The corporate media has a new faux warning heading into the 2024 presidential election, stating that if Donald Trump wins, he's going to imprison them.

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow first established the warning earlier this week.

"I'm worried about the country broadly if we put someone in power who is openly avowing that he plans to build camps to hold millions of people, and to ‘root out’ what he’s described in subhuman terms as his ‘enemy from within.’" Maddow told CNN.

"For that matter, what convinces you that these massive camps he’s planning are only for migrants?" Maddow continued. "I’m worried about me — but only as much as I’m worried about all of us."

While we understand Maddow is the queen of liberal media – seriously, her ratings are impressive – there was a time that even like-minded media critics would've scoffed at such a theatrical statement.

Not anymore.

Media watchdog Brian Stelter reappeared on CNN on Tuesday to uphold Maddow's revenge hoax. Stelter praised Maddow’s words as "nuanced and thoughtful."

"I’ve talked to the heads of news organizations, CEOs, and media companies that are thinking this through, not in dramatic fashion, not because they’re afraid of going to jail, but because they want to know what could Trump do to use his power in the second term to punish the media," Stelter further told host Abby Phillip.

"We use the words that Trump and his allies have said, and we use them to talk about the future. Jail, of course, is an extreme part of the spectrum. Imprisonment is an extreme part."

Phillip agreed. "I’m glad that she’s bringing it up because we need to think through these issues even though it can sound a little bit out there talking about it."

Got all that?

According to hosts at two of the three major cable news networks, Donald Trump will seek to lock up media critics and treat them like stray animals.

Oh, but it's not just the media stoking the flame.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y. pretended to express the same fear a week prior.

"I mean, it sounds nuts, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this guy threw me in jail," AOC told podcast host Kara Swisher. "He’s out of his mind. I mean, he did his whole first campaign around ‘lock her up.’ This is his motto."

"I take him at his word when he says that he’s going to round up people. I take him at his word when he threatens journalists. I take him at his word," Ocasio-Cortez added.

Swisher neither questioned nor challenged Ocasio-Cortez's comments.

Note: Trump just spent four years in office and tried none of what the fear-porn stars just stated.

Moreover, according to a House Judiciary Committee filing in November, the Biden administration – not the Trump administration – used its power in office to manipulate coverage from the social and corporate media.

Specifically, the report details the extent to which government agencies pressured media companies to dictate the information posted on social media prior to the 2020 presidential election.

Read the filling in full here.

Still, Trump supporters should view the fictitious, apoplectic warnings from Maddow and AOC as a positive. Their comments reek of desperation. They see the poll numbers.

MSNBC and CNN aren't afraid that Trump will imprison them. They are afraid of the reality that has crept up upon them: Donald Trump is the favorite to win the election in November, despite the media's best conspiracy and propaganda efforts.
