McDonald's In Tennessee Gets A Round Of Applause For Proudly Displaying Christian Faith In Window
Multiple McDonald's locations in Tennessee are celebrating the upcoming Easter holiday by proudly displaying their Christian faith in their windows.
And guess what? Americans are loving it!
OK, that was unbelievably corny and hacky, but I had to do it. It's done and now we're moving on.
Over the past week, several pictures of a McDonald's branch somewhere in the Middle Tennessee region have gone viral because of their messaging in the location's window.
Years ago, this would've been universally applauded. In today's world where the Christian religion is seemingly always under attack, it will most certainly be deemed offensive.
But these specific McDonald's locations – known as The Wolfe McDonald's Enterprises – don't care. They proudly put their faith in the window earlier this month and went back to flipping Big Mac's with pure hearts.
Tennessee McDonald's goes viral for window message
Again, it shouldn't be controversial, but it of course is. Be honest – if you drove by a McDonald's that said this, tell me you wouldn't do a double-take.
Not because it's bad messaging – I think it's on point – but because you just don't see it anymore. We live in such a divided time where it's either the progressive way or the highway, and if you're not on board you're gonna get steamrolled by the mob.
I'm actually shocked this particular McDonald's hasn't yet, if we're being honest. Normally, you'd see an absolute uproar over this, but maybe that's a good thing? Maybe times are actually changing?
I doubt it, but this gives me hope. It also doesn't hurt that this location is somewhere in Tennessee. I assume this sort of messaging wouldn't fly in Gavin Newsom's California. I doubt you'll see it over at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. anytime soon, either.
Anyway, as for the owners, a little research tells me Tony and Gina Wolfe are veterans in the McDonald's game. They're actually second generation owners, and now have 12 locations spread out in Tennessee and Alabama.
A few years back, the Wolfe's were honored by the Youth Educational Foundation for their work in the Maury County school system, and Tony apparently still does most of the hiring at his various locations.
Today, Wolfe Enterprises employs more than 400 people across nine cities.
And if you thought they stopped at Easter, think again. Several members of the community were quick to point out these McDonald's locations also do something similar for Christmas.
In a world currently filled with Targets, Doritos, North Face and, of course, Bud Light, it's nice to see at least one local McDonald's take a different approach.
PS: it's also Shamrock Shake season! If you're in Tennessee, go get you one today!
You're welcome in advance.
