Married Mom Wants A Divorce After Her Husband Asked For A Threesome For His Birthday

A marriage is on the brink of divorce after a husband asked for a threesome for his birthday.

A 38-year-old married mother responded to her husband's request for a threesome for his 40th birthday by asking him for a divorce.  That seems like an over the top response, but she doesn't think so.

The two have been together for more than 7 years and have a 6-month-old daughter.

"I don’t think that I am being dramatic.  My husband is turning 40 in a few weeks and he asked me if we could do something crazy like have a threesome on his day.  With a woman," she wrote on Reddit.

Well, we're already off to a bad start here.  It's his birthday, not hers.  If he wants a threesome with a woman, then that's what he wants.  She seems to imply here that a threesome with another man would have been considered.

"'You choose her and you set the rules' aww how nice of you to make me choose !," she continues.  "I just started bawling my eyes out and I guess he wasn’t prepared for this reaction so he got terrified and started apologizing and saying sorry and that he loves me more than anything and to forget it."

The offer to have her choose the other woman and set the rules is actually very nice.  And obviously, his response to her unhinged reaction lets you know exactly where his heart is.

Is A Threesome For Your 40th Birthday Too Much To Ask For?

He heard it was the summer of threesomes, and given that his 40th birthday is coming up, he thought he would throw it out there.  She wasn’t going for it, and he was fine with dropping the whole thing.

No big deal, right?  Wrong.  This woman isn't willing to drop it or move on.  She spent an entire day obsessing over it before asking her husband for a divorce.

She said, "Of course I can’t forget it.  I asked for divorce next day (two days ago) and he is very shocked and desperate.  He told me that he would give me space and crash on his parents’ sofa for a few days but I know that in my heart my marriage is over."

This to me is a woman who was looking for an excuse to file for divorce.  She's running wild with a request for a threesome like he asked for a hall pass or something for his 40th.

The guy is staring 40 straight in the eyes and has a young family that is going to suck all the fun out of the bedroom for the next several years.  He decided to shoot his shot.  The worst case is she says no, or so he thought.

I would have been on her side if they were a couple of 20-somethings with a only a couple of years together under their belt.  They're not.

These two have almost a decade together and are in their late 30s.  You would think they'd be able to get through an innocent 40th birthday threesome request.

Maybe I'm way off base here.  Let me know what you think sean.joseph@outkick.com.
