Luka Doncic's Draft Night Show-Stealing Mom Has Officially Arrived In Los Angeles
Back in 2018, I was still pulling double duty in the depths of the internet, trying to make my way as a blogger while living the cubicle life in order to contribute to my family.
Luka Doncic was being drafted in the first-round of the NBA Draft with the third pick by the Atlanta Hawks. The rights to the pick were traded to the Dallas Mavericks.
The Slovenian also introduced social media to his mom, Mirjam Poterbin. She stole the show that night as she was welcomed into the league by one of the vets.
What a night for Luka, mom and the Mavs. Mom has remained one of his biggest fans and has been assisting in his business ventures behind the scenes. It hasn’t always been smooth sailing.
A couple of years ago there was a legal battle over his trademark, but that's all behind them now. As are the Dallas Mavericks, sort of. He'll still have a special place in his heart for kicking their ass.
Luka Doncic and mom both had decent nights against Mavericks
Luka's now a member of the Los Angeles Lakers after being traded earlier this month. On Tuesday night, he and his new team welcomed the Mavericks to Los Angeles.
Mom wasn’t going to miss this game. If she's been to a game since Luka's arrival in Los Angeles, she hasn’t posted about it until Tuesday night.
Mom had a 77 Lakers jersey on and witnessed her son put on a show. He did some pregame push-ups, then got to work. The 25-year-old dropped a triple-double on his former squad.
More importantly, I'm sure Luka would say, his new team, the Lakers, won the game 107-99. That's having a night against your old team.
Mom was even in the building with something to prove. She hasn’t lost a step either. Mom looks good in purple and gold.
Mirjam Poterbin, aka Luka Doncic's draft night show-stealing mom, has officially arrived in Los Angeles. I think she'll fit in nicely out in Los Angeles.
