Preview For Upcoming Horror Movie Will Send A Chill Down Your Spine
"Longlegs" looks like it's going to be a fascinating horror movie.
The plot of the horror/psychological-thriller is described as, "FBI Agent Lee Harker is assigned to an unsolved serial killer case that takes an unexpected turn, revealing evidence of the occult. Harker discovers a personal connection to the killer and must stop him before he strikes again."
Sold. I was sold the moment I read "evidence of the occult." Sounds like something right up my alley. Check out the preview below, and hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
"Longlegs" looks horrifying.
First off, that is an awesome trailer. It's a perfect blend of traditional horror elements and then a bunch of psychological elements sprinkled in.
It gave me some old school "True Detective" vibes. For those of you who haven't seen the first season of "True Detective," all I can say is that you're missing out.
It's a very similar premise in terms of being a psychological-thriller and murder mystery. If "Longlegs" keeps the same kind of energy, then it should be great.
The interesting thing about "Longlegs" is that Nicolas Cage is in the film, but I can't tell specifically what his role is. The trailer seems to heavily hint he's the killer, but doesn't come off as just a bit too obvious?
Then, there's a line about some character not being scared of the dark because they "are the dark." Is the trailer providing subtle clues about a big twist?
I'm just speculating, but something seems a shade off. Purposeful misdirection? I can't say for sure, but I'm intrigued.
"Longlegs" hits theaters July 12th, and I think I'll definitely be giving it a shot. Let me know what you think at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
