Unnerving Preview Drops For New Horror Movie Starring Nicolas Cage

A new teaser is out for "Longlegs," and this movie looks like it's going to be absolutely wild.

The plot of the film with Nicolas Cage, Alicia Witt and Maika Monroe is described as, "FBI Agent Lee Harker is assigned to an unsolved serial killer case that takes an unexpected turn, revealing evidence of the occult. Harker discovers a personal connection to the killer and must stop him before he strikes again."

The plot description alone sounds interesting, but the marketing for this film is off the charts. That includes a new promo that claims Monroe's pulse shot to 170 bpm after seeing Cage in character. She described it as "a visceral experience" that she'll "never forget."

You can watch the new preview below, and let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com. It's a brilliant marketing strategy.

"Longlegs" preview goes viral.

The attention on the preview above since it dropped has been incredible. Cage's face is blacked out, which only adds to the intrigue.

All we know is that it's apparently so terrifying that it jacked up an actress' pulse on set. Yeah, I need to know what he looks like ASAP.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. You can't play the middle when it comes to horror and psychological thrillers. You have to go dark and serious if you want the audience to really enjoy it. Judging from the previews above, "Longlegs" is going to be incredibly dark.

Anything less at this point would be very disappointing, and I need to know what Cage looks like. How shocking is his face? The people need to know!

You can catch "Longlegs" in theaters starting July 12. Something tells me plenty of people will be watching. Let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
