The battery mower guys would like to present their case to the jury
Friday, I asked the Screencaps community about battery powered mowers and for owners to make the case that it's the wave of the future in suburban mowing. Here are a couple of the defendants stepping forward to present their cases:
First up is Dave C. in Cape Coral, Florida who writes:
I bought the mower below earlier in the year. I previously bought the EGO weed eater, and I was happy with it. So, when the time came to replace the old Honda mower, I went with another battery lawn tool.
I like it a lot, and it does a great job on our grass/weeds in SW Florida. If a homeowner has a smaller yard, they will probably find it perfect for their needs. It is much lighter than the old Honda mower I had previously.
Here are the negatives: I've got a 1/2 yard, and sometimes I can knock out everything on one charge. IF the grass is thicker than normal, or IF the grass is damp, or IF I use the self-propel mechanism, I will have to recharge the battery to finish the yard. The recharge time is an hour. An extra battery is $250.
The battery operated mower works great for me.

Next up, we have Mike P. in Carmel, IN to state his case for the battery-powered mower in his garage:
Have a Ryobi 13.5in 18v battery powered mower for my tiny yard. Handles mowing, trim work and air blowing under one battery, albeit it a small yard. They have larger battery capacity for larger yards. No maintenance in 3 years for the mower other than replacing blades. Works great.
Redid front yard from sod to a completely new surface with high end KBG/fescue mix this fall. Carmel, IN
Here's my takeaway from the battery mower topic: they're perfect for small yards. Seems simple enough. I'm not going out and dropping $250 on a backup battery to go along with the initial mower purchase that's for sure, especially when I go through approximately seven gallons of fuel for mowing/leaves from April through November. It would take me a few years to justify that extra battery.

• Here's something close to my heart and probably why I like to have garage beers with people who don't use these sayings. I've never walked into a garage to suck down Busch Lights with normal humans and heard someone say "be better" in a serious tone.
Lesson: Get the hell away from people who use these sayings.
• And one more thing this morning. I'll bite and give Dan Woken some attention that he's seeking. Once again, the guy proves that he actually hates sports that pay his bills. Dan wrote this tweet at 10:28. The ALCS game wasn't even close to ending. Guys now have 4-5 TVs in their basements. Guys busted their asses all week at work and just want to escape from the daily grind.
Then Woken comes along with a tweet like this.
Dan is about as out of touch with the common man as it gets. Think about the last time Dan had a beer (if he even drinks beer) with a commoner. Dan's worst nightmare is a Natty Light in a garage with guys being guys after 10:30 on a Friday night. So sad, Dan.
