Kamala Harris, Taraji P. Henson Deliver Cringe Conversation During BET Awards: VIDEO

Last night, the Black Entertainment Television network held its annual BET Awards, which is dedicated to highlighting Black entertainers for their contributions to the entertainment industry.

During the broadcast for the show, Vice President Kamala Harris and actress Taraji P. Henson ("Hidden Figures," "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button") held a pre-recorded conversation. What happens when you let two flaming liberals have the proverbial microphone at a progressive awards show?

Absurd levels of cringe.

The two barely talked about the actual awards show, and Henson decided instead to talk about the upcoming presidential election. She complained that "women’s reproductive rights" (a.k.a., the ability to get away with killing babies) was on the line, as well as the Supreme Court and American’s "basic freedoms." Henson asked Harris what her thoughts on the election were.

My eyes got tired from all the rolling they did while listening to that rant. But it only got worse once Harris responded.

"I’m out here in these streets…there is so much at stake in this moment," Harris said. "The majority of us believe in freedom and equality, but these extremists, as they say, they not like us."

I swear, I have never met anyone who tries so hard to say things that make her look cool and fail so miserably (the last words of that sentence were a nod to a Kendrick Lamar song, but it's still awkward). Harris finished her monologue by echoing Henson and saying our basic freedoms are on the line - which they’re not.

If you were a brave enough soul to watch all of that, good for you. Harris’ talking points are so detached from reality and steeped in emotionalism that they will make your brain rot. Adding Henson’s perspective only made things worse.
