Bone-Chilling 'Joker' Sequel Trailer Paints Dark Picture Of Things To Come

The new trailer for "Joker: Folie À Deux" is out.

The highly-anticipated sequel with Joaquin Phoenix returning as Arthur Fleck/Joker hits theaters October 4th, and fans are incredibly excited.

The 2019 film earned more than a billion dollars at the box office and was easily one of the best movies of the year. Phoenix crushed it as viewers got to watch Fleck transform into the legendary DC Comics villain.

Now, it's time for round two.

New "Joker: Folie À Deux" trailer is out.

The plot of the sequel with Lady Gaga l is described by Warner Bros. as, "'Joker: Folie À Deux' finds Arthur Fleck institutionalized at Arkham awaiting trial for his crimes as Joker. While struggling with his dual identity, Arthur not only stumbles upon true love, but also finds the music that's always been inside him."

On that music note, early whispers indicate there will be several songs featured as Fleck and Harley Quinn (Lady Gaga) start cutting it up, but it's unclear at this time how many will be originals to the movie.

What we do knew is the new trailer promises a dark ride. Give it a watch below, and let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

I'm getting some serious vibes that "Joker: Folie À Deux" is going to be awesome. Again, the first film was outstanding. Director Todd Phillips - the same genius behind "The Hangover" - hit a home run.

It was an outstanding blend of a traditional comic book movie with plenty of elements that appealed to regular viewers. It was a similar formula "The Dark Knight" trilogy used, and it worked.

Now, Phoenix is returning and Lady Gaga is joining him. Don't count out Gaga's acting skills. She was outstanding in "A Star is Born." Definitely worth checking out if you've never seen it before. With a music element to "Joker: Folie À Deux," adding her to the mix certainly makes sense on the surface.

I'm certainly excited for whatever comes with the sequel, and I'm sure many of you are too once it hits theaters in early October. Let me know what you think the movie will be like at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
