Joe Biden Crushed On Social Media For Hilariously Bad Tweet

Joe Biden might have sent one of the worst-crafted fundraising tweets possible.

The President tested positive for COVID-19 Wednesday, and it didn't take long at all for the news to go viral. Why is getting COVID in 2024 a huge deal? Your guess is as good as mine, but the news dominated everything Wednesday night.

As all politicians know, you can't let any crisis go to waste, and Biden decided to try to raise some money off of the news.

Too bad the strategy misfired in a huge way.

Joe Biden roasted for tweet about being sick.

Whoever runs Biden's personal account set the internet on fire when they tweeted "I'm sick" without any further context.

The tweet has been viewed more than 122 million times.

It later turned out to be a fundraising stunt that took a shot at Elon Musk. A second tweet was sent two minutes later, but the damage was already done.

The internet was ready to feast, and that's exactly what people on X did. Check out some of the responses below, and hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

I was sitting with some friends last night eating wings at Union Pub (amazing spot for wings) in Washington, D.C. when this tweet was fired, and everyone collectively shared a "What the hell is going on?" reaction.

The two minutes before the follow up felt like a lifetime. Who thought this was a good idea? What intern thought tweeting "I'm sick" from the President's account in some dumb fundraising attempt was smart? It wasn't and the internet is crushing him for it.

Furthermore, there is a 100% chance this becomes a meme that lives on for years. If you don't think I'm not quote tweeting Wisconsin's first loss of the upcoming football season - assuming the team doesn't go undefeated, of course - with a screenshot of his tweet, then you simply do not understand internet culture.

There's some moments where you know the internet notched itself a massive W, and this was one of them. Let me know what you think at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
