Jimmy Kimmel Tells CNN That He'd Rather Have Donald Trump As Show Guest Than Aaron Rogers
Jimmy Kimmel made it painfully obvious that you’d have a better chance of seeing Donald Trump on his late night show than Aaron Rogers.
The host of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" held an interview with CNN’s Elizabeth Wagmeister to discuss his plans for hosting the 96th Annual Academy Awards, which will air on Sunday at 7 p.m. (if you’re interested in wasting a couple of hours at the end of your weekend).
One of the questions in the wide-ranging interview was whether he would have New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rogers on the show.
To that, he gave an emphatic no, since the two have a contentious past (more on that in a minute).
"Probably not. The way I look at it, the next step is for Aaron Rodgers to reach out to me – not the other way around," Kimmel said. "So, I don’t see that happening. Listen, we have some major differences in the way we think."
To drive home his level of disdain for the NFL star, he said that he would rather have an interview Donald Trump - a man who also thinks very differently than he does.
"I would absolutely have him on the show," Kimmel said. "I do think there are a lot of questions I would like to ask him, and I would like to get actual answers. I think most of the interviews that he does don’t require those."
Kimmel and Rogers Have Bashed Each Other A Lot In The Past
It’s somewhat impressive that Kimmel would be willing to open his mind to the possibility of having Trump on his show, considering that he also said in the CNN interview that he enjoys making fun of him.
The real question is why he hates Rogers so much. As I said above, the two have a contentious history.
In the past, Kimmel has bashed Rogers for not being vaccinated. Additionally, he used a portion of one of his shows in January to make fun of the quarterback for wanting to know the names of the Jeffery Epstein client list.
That caught Rogers’ attention, who fired back by jokingly suggesting that Kimmel was on the list while on "The Pat McAfee Show."
Once Kimmel heard this remark, he threatened legal action against Rogers for making a joke. That’s ironic really, since Kimmel has used Rogers as comedical material on his show quite frequently.
This is why Kimmel would rather have Trump on his show than Rogers. All because of a few jokes gone wrong.
