Jennifer Lopez's Bad Year Continues With Potential Las Vegas Residency Reportedly In Jeopardy

2024 is not Jennifer Lopez's year.

After a disastrous flop of a new album in February that saw the long-time hitmaker sell the lowest number of albums in her career, and a rumored second split with Ben Affleck a few weeks ago, J-Lo may also be out of her Vegas residency!

According to the New York Post, Jennifer Lopez has been in talks with the MGM Grand in Las Vegas to perform a concert residency that would see her get paid up to $1 million per show for 90 shows. The only problem is, it's not just Ben Affleck that doesn't want to see J-Lo anymore, but also music fans.

"MGM is watching her not doing well on the road. They are very nervous. It’s pretty rare you have a poor tour and then go to Vegas," the Post quoted a music source familiar with the negotiations while stressing that no deal has been signed yet but that ‘discussions are continuing."

BUYER'S REMORSE ON J-LO?

It was only four years ago when Jennifer Lopez performed at the 2020 Super Bowl where the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 31-20. Remember that halftime show with Shakira? Yeah, me neither.

Since then, however, the famed star who has been tied to Puff Daddy (eek!) Alex Rodriguez, Marc Anthony and now Ben Affleck (twice) has had a number of films that haven't done anything. She's also gearing up for a summer tour that, unfortunately for her, nobody is talking about for an album that nobody bought.

LOPEZ'S SUMMER TOUR ISN'T SELLING

It appears that MGM and Live Nation may have overshot the desire and demand for J-Lo at a ridiculously high $1 million per show spot. With the Sphere and plenty of other residencies and things to do as Vegas continues to become a hot spot once again, not surprisingly, the demand for Jennifer Lopez just isn't as there as it once was.

You can be sure that MGM and others are paying close attention to the feedback and reaction to J-Lo's latest movie, "Atlas" which was released on Netflix this past weekend.
