Jackson Mahomes Pleads No Contest To Misdemeanor, Sentenced To Probation
It's been another interesting week for the Mahomes family. While Brittany Mahomes is running around with a blown out back handing out pelvic floor advice to the ladies, her brother-in-law, and noted nose picker, Jackson Mahomes is weaseling his way through the court system.
The 23-year-old younger brother of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was facing felony charges of aggravated sexual battery, along with a misdemeanor battery charge, from an incident that occurred in February 2023 at a Kansas restaurant.
Jackson was accused of grabbing a woman, bar owner Aspen Vaughn, by her neck and forcibly kissing her in her restaurant office. During that incident, which was caught on a surveillance camera, he was also accused of shoving a waiter who was trying to enter the office.
In January, the felony charges against him were dropped because the witness would not cooperate. Jackson appeared at a sentencing hearing on Thursday where he pleaded no contest to a single count of misdemeanor battery. He was then sentenced to six months of probation.
Following the sentencing, Mahomes was taken into the custody of the Johnson County Sheriff’s office. It will be determined whether he’s eligible for work release.
After the felony charges were dropped earlier this year, Jackson's attorney, Brandon Davies, said in a statement, "Like I said from the beginning, Jackson has done nothing wrong. We had full confidence that the truth of the matter would ultimately be revealed. The defense will reserve further comment until the remaining count is disposed of."
Jackson Mahomes Sentenced To Probation After No Contest Plea
The woman involved reported that she had received death threats, had been harassed, and that her restaurant had been vandalized after the initial charges were handed out. She was forced to close the restaurant back in August.
Jackson isn't the only family member to have a run-in with the law recently. Patrick and Jackson's old man, former MLB pitcher Patrick Mahomes Sr., was arrested in Texas prior to the Super Bowl for his third DWI.
Despite all the distractions surrounding Mahomes at all times, he won his third Super Bowl and is currently making the most of his off-season.
