It Is My Mission To Bring McDonald's Bagels To Nashville | Mike Gunzelman
Anyone with a brain (or a stomach) knows that the best fast food breakfast spot hands down is McDonald's.
You roll up and they have something for whatever your early morning rumbling tummy desires. Bacon egg and cheese or a sausage egg and cheese are a given. Maybe you want more of a syrupy start to your day so you get a McGriddle or hell, why not a couple of pancakes! Or maybe you're a simple person and prefer the OG of all breakfast foods - I'm talking about that Egg McMuffin baby. It doesn't matter what it is - McDonald's has it all when it comes to breakfast.
… Or so I thought.
In something that I sure as heck didn't have on my 2024 Bingo card, I am now in the middle of an Internet battle right now with McDonald's in Nashville.
Why's that? Because they don't have any breakfast bagels!
After sending out a few tweets ripping the Nashville McDonald's for inexplicably not having the bagel option like so many of the other locations have, Mickey D's themselves tweeted me back and put up a poll asking if they should ‘Bring Back Bagels?’
MCDONALD'S BAGEL SANDWICHES ARE DELICIOUS
The Twitter poll has since ended and all I can say is ‘you're welcome' to the other breakfast lovers out there because I came and saved the day.
Nearly 69% (there's a joke here somewhere) voted ‘Please and thank you’ for having McDonald's in Nashville bring back breakfast bagel sandwiches, compared to the 31% that said ‘Naw I have a new bestie.’ Newsflash to those people - your new significant other hates you and you stink.
For those that aren't aware, the bacon, egg and cheese McDonald's bagel (with that cream sauce they put on it) is single-handedly the best breakfast item, not only in fast food but perhaps anywhere. Yes, I'd put that delicious bagel sandwich up against the holier-than-thou elites and their super expensive catered meals with their cream cheese and lox, egg whites, whatever - that's how good it is.
However, for reasons unknown, Nashville's McDonald's doesn't have any bagels. Instead, I have to opt for biscuits. Now being a transplant from the northeast and New York City, if I have another biscuit down here in Nashville I'm going to lose my mind - biscuits STINK after a while.
And let's be honest - bringing back breakfast bagels is the LEAST that McDonald's can do when they are facing much worse things like serving $18 Big Mac meals.
MAKE MCDONALD'S BREAKFAST GREAT AGAIN
I don't understand how a national chain like McDonald's, which ships out products across the country, doesn't have bagels in every location. If I go to a Subway they have the same basic food products all across the country - hell, even the world for the most part.
But I can't get some McDonald's bagels? Let's be honest everybody, it's not like those things scream out ‘freshly made,’ if you know what I'm saying. Have you ever seen a baker in the back of a McDonald's covered in flour because they just made 500 bagels, biscuits and buns at 4am? Exactly.
I'm not alone either. There's literally a Facebook group called ‘Where’s My McDonald's Bagel,' to find locations that serve them.
MCDONALD'S OWES ME
And to be honest, I deserve the breakfast bagels. I mean hell, here's me in 2020 before the world ended trying out their new scented candles (my hands stunk for DAYS after, but it's the price to pay for TV stardom, folks!)
Or how about we throw it back to 2018!
And if that wasn't enough, Gunz is throwing it back to over a decade ago to 2011 where I gave McDonald's my biggest compliment ever - that the breakfast was indeed ‘ballin.’ I hope they realize just how big of a deal that is. I don't hand that title out loosely!
So there you have it. I'll be waiting to hear from the Nashville McDonald's about when the breakfast bagels will be available. Who knows, maybe they'll invite me to do a taste testing for the launch, and I'll cover it for OutKick.
Regardless, make sure to follow me and stay tuned for more updates on if McDonald's is going to do the right thing and listen to the people when it comes to their breakfast. It's time to make breakfast great again, McDonald's.
