Iowa Man Goes Viral After Tornado Destroys House, But All He Wants Are Golf Clubs

I fancy myself someone who loves golf. I play weekly, at least, and even try to hit the indoor ranges over the winter. But I, like many people who might THINK they love golf, have nothing on an Iowa man named Bradley Gebbie.

Earlier this week, a tornado demolished the small Iowa town of Greenfield, leaving several people injured and property obliterated.

A local news crew went around, looking for residents to speak to about their devastating losses. Bradley Gebbie lost his house in the storm, but when WHO 13 (NBC affiliate in Des Moines) reporter Andy Fales asked him about it, Gebbie immediately let the world know about his priorities in life.

"I lost a lot," Gebbie began, with most people expecting to talk about his house, his car or perhaps some precious art holdings.

"Including my golf clubs," Gebbie continued, while shaking his head. "I had, like, three-grand into that."

Then, he immediately went to work trying to replace his most prized possessions.

"I'd like to shout out TaylorMade, Titleist and Callaway … I really need a new set," Gebbie pleaded.

"I just … love golf," Gebbie concluded. Clearly! There's no way to argue with him there.

Of course, the major golf brands became aware of Gebbie's story and sprang into action.

Even LIV Golf offered to help in any way that they can:

According to another WHO 13 reporter, Gebbie is a recent high school graduate.

The Internet is often a terrible place that negatively impacts the well-being of people, especially young people.

But then a story comes along like this, where a poor guy loses his $3,000 golf clubs in a tornado, does an interview with a local news channel, gets re-posted by Shooter McGavin, and has a chance to get his clubs replaced.

My faith in humanity is restored for today.
