Influencer Embraced The Business Opportunity Presented By Making Content, Became A Top Earner & A Better Mom
Australian OnlyFans star Honey Brooks didn't set out to make content because she needed the money, nor did she do it to become a better mom. The influencer achieved both of those organically.
The married mother of two looked at entering the world of content as a business opportunity, one she's embraced and is now reaping the benefits of. She first landed on the OutKick Culture Department’s radar with tales of mowing her lawn and working on her farm naked.
A new obsession of hers had Brooks making a return appearance before a story of an accidental affair with a friend's husband went viral. All that and she says she got into her new line of work by chance.
She and her husband ran into a couple on OnlyFans during a family vacation. They introduced the couple to a whole new world, or as Brooks looked at it, a whole new business opportunity.
"I had no idea about OnlyFans, but I just remember thinking, 'oh my goodness, what an incredible business opportunity this is'," she told Kidspot. "I didn’t need to get into sex work. I just saw it as a chance to be rewarded for how hard I worked, and the income would reflect that."
Embracing the new business opportunity, and leaving her marketing business behind, did pay off. Brooks' content brings in almost $60k a month.
The benefits of leaving her 9-to-5 behind weren't only financial. Brooks has learned a lot along the way and even become a better mother because she's now making content.
"OnlyFans has genuinely made me a better mum and improved my parenting skills," she claims. "I truly believe that from the bottom of my heart. The whole industry just completely changed me as a person."
Honey Brooks Might Be A Better Mom, But She's Not Allowed To Be An Aunt Anymore
In spite of the new and improved Honey Brooks, both as a person and a mom, not everyone in her family is happy about the new career path. Some sticks in the mud won't even let her be around her nieces and nephews anymore.
"They said that it was because they’re trying to set a great example to their kids, so they didn’t want me around," the content creating mom admitted. "But they don’t know that I’m the best woman and mum I could be, and I've grown so much. There’s just so many misconceptions around it."
That's entirely their loss. What if little Billy and Suzy are seeking business advice? Now they can't contact their super successful aunt. That's a mistake.
Valuable advice like this, which she gives to those thinking about throwing content up on the internet in order to become rich, "Don’t do it because you want to make a quick buck. Do it because you enjoy it."
Again, that's her family's loss. This is a piece of advice her nieces and nephews could absolutely benefit from.
Brooks is out here doing more than handing out advice, she's trying to change the perception of her line of work. She works hard to achieve a solid work-life balance and keeps the two worlds totally separate.
The history books will decide whether she was a better mom before or after becoming an influencer. For now, it's a belief of hers that drives her continued embrace of making content. I wish her nothing but luck.
