Illinois Police Department Might Use Home Run Derby Anthem As Punishment

In one Illinois town, you better think long and hard if you plan on breaking seat belt and speeding laws.

The Bartlett (IL) Police Department announced Monday night during the home run derby that those caught speeding and/or not wearing their seat belts will be "forced to listen to 4 x Grammy nominee Ingrid Andress' home run derby performance again."

What's the big deal with Andress' performance? Take a listen. Then, you decide if you're ready to break the law in Bartlett:

Before the lib maniacs start attacking the suburban Chicago city, which is 36 miles west of Wrigley Field, for their tough-love approach towards crime, the police department is joking. I promise.

How did the Internet react to the PD's social media team?

"To the guy that took a big risk here in posting this while probably pooping out 3 donuts and a cheap coffee. God bless you! I’m sure you’ll regret it but I had a nice chuckle and I know many others did as well. Godspeed," one Twitter user wrote.

"Bartlett will be the safest town ever," another user chimed in.

As for poor Ingrid, she's been laying low ever since turning in that performance for the ages. She went from promoting a new single and announcing a couple of performance dates to absolute silence.

That's the wrong move.

According to Google Trends, which tracks what's going viral on the Internet, Ingrid has never been more popular than she is right now. She's a viral hit.

Her handlers, if she has any, need to strike while the trend is in Ingrid's favor.

"Do you want to hear me kill it in Nashville? Stop by…[bar name]."

Folks, this is how marketing is done in 2024. Get with the times.
