Hooters Sara Is Ready For International Competition, Sommer Ray Models A Bikini & Grilling Season Rolls On

We've got some postseason action resuming tonight

The NBA's extended break between the Conference Finals and The NBA Finals is finally over.  Assuming a fashion show doesn't appear outside the arena prior to tip-off.

That could prove to be too big of a distraction for some players.  They might choose to attend that and catch up on all the ways to style a manpurse instead of playing for a championship.

I hope the NBA has taken proper precautions to avoid such a disaster, but it's hard to say.  The league, at times, doesn't seem to be too concerned with the fans of their sport.

The good news is that after the Mavericks and Celtics get the series going tonight in Boston, Game 2 doesn't take place until Sunday.  That's how you keep the casual fan locked in.  You drag the NBA Finals out for most of June.

Don't worry, there will be Stanley Cup Final action to keep your playoff intensity up.  With shorter rest between games in the NHL, by the way, because it doesn't take as long to recover from mini-car crashes on ice as it does to run around and flop all night.

Obviously, I'm giving the NBA a hard time here.  While it took almost all season to get me interested, I'm interested nonetheless, and I'll probably catch as many as three or four full finals games.

Luka's incredible and Tatum is fun to watch, and it should be a good series.  That said, it shouldn't take until the last week of June to complete if the series goes seven games.

Giraffes are tossing toddlers around

Let's switch gears to a rule-breaking toddler who got tossed around by a giraffe at a wildlife center.  The little rebel was sitting in the back of a pickup truck, which is not allowed, with her mother on Saturday, June 1 at the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Texas.

The 2-year-old is seen in a video of the incident attempting to feed a giraffe who is standing on the side of the road apparently scoping out the scene looking for a toddler to snatch.

As the giraffe goes in for some food, it grabs the shirt of the little girl and briefly picks her up from the back of the pickup before tossing her back to her mother.

A nice reminder from the animal that sitting in the back of a pickup truck isn't the best idea.

FOX 4 reports that according to the rules posted on the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center's website, "You may NOT ride in the back of pickups."

They also report that despite being lifted in the air and tossed around by a giraffe, the girl was not hurt.

Check out some footage of the toddler's run-in with the hungry giraffe.

Remote Amazon tribe gets the internet and gets hooked on porn

A remote tribe in the Amazon was hooked up to the internet thanks to Elon Musk's Starlink nine months ago.  The 2,000 member Marubo tribe in Brazil is now reporting on how the internet has changed their lives.

"When it arrived, everyone was happy," Tsainama Marubo, 73, said.  "But now, things have gotten worse.  Young people have gotten lazy because of the internet, they’re learning the ways of the white people."

What ways are those?  Why, of course, they have some members of the tribe that have become addicted to porn and social media.

This is quite a culture shock for a tribe that frowns upon kissing in public.  Men have been sharing porn videos in group chats according to Alfredo Marubo.

"We’re worried young people are going to want to try it," he said.  "Everyone is so connected that sometimes they don’t even talk to their own family."

Members of the tribe became so addicted that they now limit internet access to two hours each morning, five hours each evening, and all day Sunday.

Who could have seen this coming?

The meats

Hey Sean,

Last night I reverse seared a prime ribeye and filet.  Started them on the smoker then finished them off in the cast iron skillet.  They were divine.  Paired with twice baked potatoes and fresh grilled corn.

SeanJo:

That sounds and looks incredible.  Throwing in the twice baked potatoes and fresh grilled corn was a nice touch as well.  This kind of meal is exactly why we fire up the grills and the smokers.  Take that Greta!

Grilling

- Gen X Warren M writes:

Hey SeanJo,

Great work on the Sunday Screencaps and filling in for Joe. Despite living in Florida, we don’t grill nearly enough. But we grilled some great cheeseburgers and made the In-and-Out Sauce.

Take care!

SeanJo:

I'm right there with you.  I don't fire up the grill as much as I should either.  I think that's going to change though.  At least I hope so.  Seeing all this content from the grill is definitely motivating to do so.

Keep it coming as we make our way through the summer and fire up that grill a couple of extra times this grilling season, Warren.

grill action

Sean,

Great job keeping SC rolling this week.

I use a vintage (25 yr old) Weber Gold Series with a natural gas hook up. A fan favorite at our house is hand cut, double thick pork chops with a Hatch green chili finish. They go very well with a baked potato,  fresh salad and a TNML post-mow beer.

SeanJo:

Thanks for the support.  Unfortunately, your picture didn't come through.  That said, you clearly are all in on the grilling season.  A vintage Weber Gold Series is an obvious sign of a man that knows his way around the grill.

CAPS: Grill Discussion

- Jonathan M writes:

Sean,

The first half of filling in for Joe has been great. Now you get NBA and NHL content.
It’s like taking a lead into the 4th quarter, now finish with a W.

Let’s take this grilling discussion in a sightly different direction. Let’s talk outdoor pizza ovens.

I was gifted an Ooni Pizza Oven (yeah, heck of a gift). We "fired" it up (like what I did there) and I am in love!

Now that we successfully navigated the maiden voyage, I’m inviting neighbors, co-workers, and coaches over for make-your-own-pizza this Summer!!

What does the rest of the ScreenCaps community have to say about pizza ovens?

SeanJo:

Thanks for the support.  The grill response has been awesome.  I love where your head is with the pizza oven talk.  Who doesn't love a pizza fresh out of an outdoor oven?

And as you're highlighting here, there's more to the grilling season than just traditional grills.  Feel free to send as much grill/pizza oven content over as the summer continues.

Screencaps - Call to the Bullpen (bring out SeanJo)

- Charles Kikumoto writes:

Hey Sean,

Great job covering the Screencaps while Joe is out on a well deserved golf extravaganza.  Haven't missed a beat.  The call to the bullpen has paid off with some clutch late game pitching by you.  My question is what is SeanJo's walk-out song to the mound?  Metallica?  Wild Thing?  Or some Johnny Cash??

Keep up the great work and hope you've got a great summer vaca lined up as well!

SeanJo:

Hey Charles, it's always good to hear from you.  Thanks for the support and I couldn’t agree more, Joe has earned this time off.

If we're talking walk-out songs, as a third-generation Yankees fan, I have to go with Metallica.  There was nothing better than Mariano Rivera making his way to the mound with Enter Sandman blaring.

I'll be heading out to an area of the country later this month with limited cell service.  Until then, I'll be here grinding away.

That's all I've got for today.  The NBA Finals are here, let's have a day before tip-off, and keep that grilling season content coming.

As always, the inbox is open.  Send me what you've got cooking on your grill this week and whatever else you want to sean.joseph@outkick.com.
