High School Broadcaster Caught On Hot Mic Talking Dirty To 'Soccer Moms'
Let's go to Kansas where a broadcaster is out of a job after he got caught on a hot mic getting raunchy while talking dirty to soccer moms who were in the stands for a girls state tournament match.
Awful Announcing has identified the announcer as Toby Moore, who was working for the NFHS Network streaming service during the third-place match between Rose Hill and McPherson in the Kansas Class 4A-1A state championship tournament.
At halftime, Moore, who fully admitted to Awful Announcing that he was caught on the hot mic, could be heard in the press box ripping on a variety of topics, including the play of the two teams on the field.
Eventually, the conversation Moore is having with an unidentified male voice turns to the moms in the stands. That's when Toby let's 'er rip!
The action gets going at the 3:00 mark.
"A bonus though of calling high school soccer? Girls soccer? For high school? The soccer moms," the unidentified person says to Moore.
Now we're talking! Let's see what Toby thinks about the soccer moms.
"F*** yeah, baby. Up top, baby," Moore says about the soccer moms. "The one that’s facing us? See if she can tear it the f*** off. I can’t see the legs, but I can feel the a** from here," he continued.
Some think Toby actually said "attitude" and not "ass," but the damage was done.
Toby knew a hot mic could be his undoing, but he had to get that off his chest.
"This conversation never happened, by the way," Moore told his unidentified press box cohort. "We’d get in trouble. I would have never had this conversation if [inaudible name] was sitting in that chair. We’ve been around long enough; we know what we’re doing."
Bad news, Toby.
Someone was recording you and then uploaded it to Vimeo and then sent it out to media outlets.
Awful Announcing reports Toby has lost his job covering Kansas soccer through his NFHS employer.
He released a statement saying his comments were stupid, etc., etc.
Guys, you have to be smarter than Toby. This is why you only say this stuff about soccer moms to your text group on a group FaceTime. If you're going to tell a soccer mom to rip it off in a press box, you run the risk that a mic hasn't been cut or someone has a voice recorder sitting within range.
Toby learned the hard way.
