Hawk Tuah Girl Meets The Melted Abraham Lincoln Wax Statue

This is the Internet at its best.

What happens when you combine the forces of Hawk Tuah Girl and the Abraham Lincoln wax statue that is melting in Washington D.C.? You get content. You get Americans using their wits, their brains, their comedic chops. The Internet is at its best when it combines "Spit on that thang" girl and a dude who had his head blown off who is melting in the summer heat.

This is a content collaboration that reminds Internet historians of the glory days of 2010 when funny content dominated the landscape.

And before you think this wax statue thing is fake, I'll provide you with this read on how the DC Commission on the Arts paid to have this wax statue created.

"Traditionally, monuments are made to sit and collect a patina, as they withstand change, in an attempt to eternalize a particular reality. I am interested in visualizing change and building monuments able to keep a living record of activity," artist Sandy Williams IV told East City Art in February. "By melting these wax versions of famous monuments, people are given agency over these forms that are normally (legally) untouchable."

This is actually the second version of the Lincoln wax statue.

The timing of the DC Arts Commission couldn't have been any better. Hawk Tuah came along. It got really hot in D.C. just as she was going viral and then Abe's head melted backwards which led to one of the great comedic bits in recent Internet history.

The content gods delivered this weekend. Enjoy.
