Popular Female Influencer Defends Harrison Butker With Simple Message
Support for Harrison Butker continues to grow.
The Kansas City Chiefs kicker is continuing to face immense backlash after giving a speech at Benedictine College that promoted traditional family values and his conservative Christian worldview.
People are most fired up about the fact Butker suggested some women find their most happiness as a mother and homemaker. He also openly praised his own wife for being an incredible woman and life partner.
That was enough to spin up the outrage mob.
TikTok star defends Harrison Butker.
While the mob has tried to cancel Butker, support is also growing. Pro-family TikTok influencer Ivy Van Dusen is now also coming to his defense. She shared a video explaining how there's nothing wrong with a pro-family message, and she made her stance clear.
"We're constantly told how important it is and how wonderful it is for women to get really good degrees and to be CEOs and heads of companies. And that's the most important thing you can do, but if someone dare suggest that something else is more important ever, canceled. You cannot say that. But to be honest, some of us really, really appreciate that kind of encouragement," Van Dusen said, in part, in the now-viral video.
She also took a shot at the media for pushing a narrative that Butker is awful for giving the speech. She claimed she felt it was "really sweet" and she "liked it."

Van Dusen, who is clearly very happy with being a mother and homemaker, also received plenty of support in the comments:
- Majority of people hating on his speech haven’t read the full speech. It’s wonderful, refreshing and much needed.
- I work in corporate America. Love my job but… My biggest accomplishment is my son! Nothing in life compares to being a mother!
- I stand with Harrison Butker.
- I am a college educated woman. And stay at home mom is the best role I’ve ever had in life.
- People never get to the end of their life and wish they worked more…it’s always that they had more time with loved ones.
It's crazy how Butker's speech has turned into a national news story. People are trying to ruin his life, there are petitions to get the Chiefs to cut him, the official Kansas City X account doxxed him, the NFL released a statement condemning him and it's a war on social media.
Do people realize you can disagree with someone and just move on? Furthermore, there's nothing wrong with supporting his message about being a homemaker and making family the top priority.
Below is a text from my mom about this topic. I think it sums up the situation well.
Fortunately, it does seem like the tide is turning and more and more people show support. Agree or disagree, we should all embrace debate. What did you think of Harrison Butker's speech? Let me know at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
