Harrison Butker Slams Christians Being Mocked During Olympics Opening Ceremony

Harrison Butker shared a Bible verse in reaction to an absurd display during the Olympics opening ceremony.

Drag performers appeared to be mocking the Last Supper from Jesus and the Bible during the ceremony Friday in Paris, France, and the backlash online was swift and overwhelming.

People weren't impressed by what can easily be interpreted as mocking of the Christian faith. Butker, a devout Catholic, shared a bible verse in reaction to the appalling display.

"Be not deceived, God is not mocked. For what things a man shall sow, those also shall he reap. For he that soweth in his flesh, of the flesh also shall reap corruption. But he that soweth in the spirit, of the spirit shall reap life everlasting," the Chiefs kicker tweeted late Friday afternoon.

The version is Galatians 6:7-8.

It's hard to view the video above and think it's anything other than mocking of Christians and one of the most important moments in Christian history and tradition.

The Last Summer is arguably the most important part of Christian history. It marks the start of communion when Jesus knew he was going to die.

It's taken incredibly seriously among Christians, and yet, people running the Olympics thought it was apparently funny and should be mocked with drag performers.

Butker had every right to call them out, and I'm not surprised he did. He held the line after facing backlash for a pro-family speech that encouraged people to get married and have children. The mob came for his throat, but he never backed down or apologized.

Now, he's sharing a bible verse in response to the insanity we witnessed Friday. Many others felt the same way.

Credit to Butker for not being afraid to speak up. People have a right to mock religion if they want, but they don't have the right to hide from criticism. Let me know what you think at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
