Is making your wife foot the hospital bill for giving birth the most diabolical move ever?

One of the biggest parts about being in any relationship is figuring out the financial aspects. Who pays for what? Do you combine all your money and assets? Are things kept separate? Is there a prenup? These are all questions people getting married or dating and living together have to figure out.

Well, we have found a first ballot hall of fame marriage move. George Kamel is a popular financial pundit in the Dave Ramsey network, and he's known for giving advice when people write in with different questions and scenarios.

Nothing could prepare me for the video he shared Monday.

Kamel shared a story Monday sent in by a woman who claimed her husband of seven years forced her to pay 100% of the hospital bill for the birth of their first child.

The unnamed woman in the scenario shared by Kamel keeps her finances separate from her husband, and they split things down the middle.

However, he apparently had a problem with all the little extra charges. What were the extra charges? She got an epidural after being in labor for 24 hours. He wasn't paying for that!

Is that not the most outrageous story you've ever heard? Plenty of people in the comments lit the husband up, and I don't blame them at all:

• The issue is not that they should be sharing a bank account. The issue is that she needs to file for divorce.
• Is this for real? I never recommend divorce unless you've exhausted all options, but this is financial and mental abuse. If Thus was EVER said to me, my entire perception of that individual would change immediately.
• I'd rather be a single mom than stay married to a guy like that. Bye Felicia.
• She should of used that 8k to pay for a divorce lawyer!
• Speaking as someone who had an epidural, I can promise you they are far from luxurious… poor woman should take her child and run. That guy sounds awful.

Forcing your wife to pay 100% of a hospital bill for giving birth is absolutely insane. It's not like she went on a quick $8,000 shopping spree. She had a kid that the man is 50% responsible for, and she needed some help along the way. What is luxurious about that?

I'm not going to say someone should get divorced after this because that's not my job. What I will say is that as a dude, I would be embarrassed to show my face in public if I made my wife pay 100% of a hospital bill because she got an epidural.
