New 'Game Of Thrones' Series Receives Major Update

Another "Game of Thrones" prequel is on the way.

"Game of Thrones" is one of the greatest achievements in the history of television, and despite having a very controversial ending, it was a smashing hit for HBO.

The powerhouse network has already cashed in again with the excellent series "House of the Dragon," and it's gearing up to do it again.

Production is underway on new "Game of Thrones" series.

The official "Game of Thrones" X account announced Tuesday afternoon that production is underway on "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" - the latest "GoT" prequel series being made by HBO.

You can check out the official announcement below, and hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

The plot of the upcoming series based on George R. R. Martin’s novella "The Hedge Knight" is described as follows:

A century before the events of "Game of Thrones," two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.

Does that sound interesting? It certainly should. HBO has an established track record of success when it comes to "Game of Thrones" and already has produced one incredibly successful prequel series.

Now, the network is going to attempt to find magic for a third time. If history is a sign of what's coming, fans are likely going to receive another outstanding "GoT" universe story based on Martin's writings.

There's still no official release date on when "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" will hit HBO and Max, but I'm guessing early 2025 is probably the target date. No matter when it comes out, we'll have plenty of coverage here at OutKick. Let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
