From Heart-Breaker To Rib-Breaker: Fall Leaves Motley Crue's Vince Neil Ailing

Next time Motley Crue hits the stage, they may want to cover Chumbawamba's "Tubthumping (I Get Knocked Down)." The toe-tapper would seem appropriate for the aging rockers whose lead singer Vince Neil got knocked down and broke a few ribs during a solo show last Friday night.

"I get knocked down, but I get up again
You are never gonna keep me down..."

Watch Neil's rib-breaking fall below.

Neil, 60, was in the midst of jamming out to Motley Crue's "Don't Go Away Mad (Just Away)" when he unexpectedly went crowd-surfing, minus the crowd. Neil strutted towards the side of the stage with all the confidence of man who just spent six pre-dawn hours smoking a brisket, engaged the crowd in a series of overhead claps, took a step forward -- and dropped roughly four feet to the venue floor.

The fall, which was roughly the equivalent height it takes to ride the "big-boy" rides at most of the country's amusement parks, put the concert on pause and Neil in an ambulance. The end result was a few broken ribs and bed rest.

Motley Crue confirmed the injury via their Twitter account: “Vince is back home and resting after breaking a few ribs on Friday night. Our love and best wishes for a speedy recovery and ready to rock in ‘22!!”

Upon returning to the stage next year, Neil and the boys may want to consider skipping over a repeat performance of "Don't Go Away Mad (Just Away)" and instead sing the songs that remind him of the good times and the songs that remind him of the best times.
