Former Playmate Brande Roderick Jumps On The Baywatch Trend With Throwbacks After Reboot Of Series Announced
The Baywatch reboot has reportedly found a home. According to multiple outlets, as well as some excited former cast members, the long-rumored reboot from Fremantle closed on a deal with FOX for a new version of the series.
Producer Lara Olsen, known for the series Spinning Out, has reportedly been selected to serve as the reboot's showrunner. The new cast for the show is unknown. Last spring, when the Baywatch reboot rumors started to heat up, former WWE superstar Mandy Rose showed interest in joining the new cast.
There have been several former cast members, like Carmen Electra, who have shown interest as well on social media with throwbacks to their time on the show. That includes former Playmate of the Year Brande Roderick.
The 49-year-old actress, who does a lot of "link in bio" promotions these days, starred as Leigh Dyer on the show in 2000. She was selected as Playmate of the Month in April of that year before going on to be crowned Playmate of the Year in 2001.
What a time to be alive. Brande jumped on the "Baywatch trend" on Instagram with several throwbacks of her own after the deal for the reboot was reported.
She said in the caption, "It only seems appropriate to jump on this #Baywatch trend! I’m excited to see the reboot of @baywatchtv on @foxtv. Who would you like to see on the new Baywatch? #bestjob #reboot #leighdyer"
Brande Roderick Is Open To Making An Appearance In The Baywatch Reboot
While she says she hasn't been formally contacted about making an appearance in the reboot, Brande is willing to get in on it. She told TMZ that she has informed "executive producer Michael Berk she's ready and willing to play someone's mom."
She added that she's excited that the show is making a return and wouldn't be surprised, given Berk's involvement in the reboot, to see someone from the original version of the show make a cameo. Although she hasn't heard anyone from the original cast being linked to the reboot.
Now if you've been keeping up with Brande on Instagram, as I have been, you know that, for months shy of 50, she's still bringing the heat. A cameo, or even a role, as she suggested, as someone's mom should definitely be considered.
I said it last April, and it still stands. Give me all the cameos from the likes of David Hasselhoff, Pam Anderson, Donna D'Errico, and I'll add another to the list, Brande Roderick.
