Florida 'Barbie' Crashes BMW Into A Popeyes, Goes Viral Contemplating Fleeing Because She Won't Last In Jail
Expect the unexpected at Popeyes restaurants in Florida.
Whether it's a couple getting on in front of the restaurant on the sidewalk or a woman crashing her car into the dining area, it all goes down at Popeyes in the Sunshine State.
The latest is a Barbie lookalike who crashed her BMW into a Popeyes in Miami over the weekend. She jumped out of the wrecked vehicle looking for some assistance in fleeing the scene.
Video of the aftermath of the crash and her contemplating leaving has gone viral on social media. She can be seen collecting her things in a short bright pink dress as a couple of men approach her to offer up their assistance.
She repeatedly tells them, "I can’t go to jail, I can’t go to jail. I won’t last there, you know?"
Eager to leave, she asks the person recording the action to help her flee the scene. She says, "Can you get me out of here, please? I can’t get charged with that."
The man, after initially offering to help her out, takes stock of the situation and appears to have second thoughts about getting involved. Probably a wise move on his part.
The Florida Barbie Ended Up Sticking Around And Waiting For Police
In a turn of events nobody saw coming, given how frantically she was trying to leave the scene, she ended up sticking around and facing the music. The Miami Police Department told Law & Crime earlier this week that there were no serious injuries reported from the crash and that the driver had been cited.
Police said about the July 14 crash, "the investigation remains open as to the circumstances that led up to the crash" and that "the female driver was still on scene during officers arrival."
"The officers analyzed the female in an effort to identify signs of intoxication which were not present to include the smell of alcohol / drugs in or around the vehicle," a police spokesperson confirmed.
The roads appeared to have been wet at the time of the crash and the Florida Barbie was cited for driving too fast for the conditions and careless driving. The police spokesperson added the investigation could turn up additional citations.
What a ride here from a video that's less than a minute and a half long. I thought for sure we were about to go into a whole Florida Barbie on the run situation here. Or at best, this was a situation of a late night that turned into an early morning with a touch of drugs and/or alcohol.
None of that was the case. She simply panicked in the moment after taking out part of a restaurant and ruining her convertible. This all could have turned out much worse for her.
