Actor Destroyed For Complaining About Acting Feeling Like A Job

Dylan Minnette is getting crushed on social media for some comically tone-deaf comments.

Minnette starred on the Netflix series "13 Reasons Why." I've never seen the series, but I know it's among the most popular ever released by the streaming giant.

Despite his massive success, Minnette has taken a step back from acting to focus on music, and made a strange claim during a recent interview on the "Zach Sang Show" about why.

One of his issues with the profession was that it "started to feel like a bit of a job," the actor claimed.

Dylan Minnette roasted after comments about saying acting felt like a job.

As you'd expect, the reactions on social media were absolutely savage, and people had little to no sympathy for Minnette.

Check out some of the responses and reactions below, and hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

Celebrities are truly living in their own world. Imagine publicly saying you quit a cushy acting job because it felt like work. Go tell the Walmart greeter they should just quit if it starts to feel like a job.

Don't like being an EMT because it's getting stressful and feels like work? Just quit. It's no big deal! Just hang up your gear and go home.

Now, this is America. Minnette is free to do whatever he wants. If he wants to pursue music with his band, Wallows, then so be it. He certainly can do it.

He might want to work on his messaging because I'm not sure telling people you quit acting because it feels like work is a winning strategy. Most people would kill to be a Hollywood star. Life as a star actor is a joke compared to people working 9-5 jobs.

The money is great, people are surrounding you at all times to make life easy as hell and the job isn't physically demanding at all. If that's so much for someone to handle, then it might be time for a reality check.

Meanwhile, I'm in the content coal mines and the mud pits every day, and I love it. I guess we're just cut from different cloth. Let me know what you think at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
