Dustin Johnson Says Paulina Gretzky Skipped The Open Championship For The Beaches In Saint-Tropez

There's no need to worry folks.  Paulina Gretzky's absence from the Open Championship this weekend doesn't mean there's trouble in paradise for her and husband Dustin Johnson.

One half of the LIV power couple isn't at the Royal Troon because the weather in Scotland sucks.  That's all.  She chose the beaches in Saint-Tropez with her friends over hitting the golf course in lousy weather.

Some of the haters will have a problem with it, but Johnson completely understands and plans to join her after the tournament wraps up.  He's not in contention anyway.

Johnson told reporters, via Golf Digest, when asked about his wife's absence, "No, my wife and a couple of friends are in Saint-Tropez."

He added, "I'll meet her on Sunday."

When asked if Paulina's absence was due to the fact that she doesn't like the weather, he replied, "I don't blame her."

How could Johnson blame her?  She does some of her finest work in a bikini when the sun is shining.  That wasn't going to be happening in Scotland this week.  Saint-Tropez, on the other hand, provided the perfect setup.

The trip this week comes on the heels of a 40th birthday celebration for DJ, where, prior to getting back to the very important work of her tan, she leaned into the whole cowgirl theme.

Paulina and her pals have been giving Saint-Tropez all it can handle over the last couple of days.  And yes, that includes some cowgirl themes.

This trip might be an extended one for Paulina and company.  Looking ahead on the LIV Golf schedule, up next is a tournament that takes place next week in the United Kingdom.

She's not working on her tan to make an appearance on that golf course.  I assume she isn't anyway.  What I know for certain is that whenever she does return to the course she'll be sporting a top-notch tan.
