New Dungeons & Dragons Character Looks Like Hillary Clinton, Surprisingly It's Not An Orc
Fans of the classic role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons — "nerds," we'll call them — can't get over how much a new character looks conspicuously like former First Lady, Secretary of State, and Presidential candidate who took the most hilarious premature victory lap of all-time, Hillary Clinton.
I'll be upfront: I'm not too familiar with D&D, and it's not just because I'm too cool. My only experience with the game came when I was like seven years old. Some older kids in my neighborhood played and I bugged them to let me join. One day, they let me and spent 15 to 20 minutes helping me build a character.
Then, the kid who served as dungeon master had me encounter a dragon and my character was immediately killed. I went back to my house and that was the end of my D&D career.
I've got to say, I wasn't happy about how this went down at the time, but now, I respect it and think it was hilarious.
Anyway, that was more than 20 years ago, so what I didn't realize was that some feel the game has been woke-ified over the years.
Case in point: this new paladin that looks like Hillary Clinton.
First of all, if you're wondering what a "paladin" even is, join the club.
I looked it up and found the definition, "a trusted military leader."
So a paladin who looks like Clinton? Yeah, there's some irony in there.
Given the character's resemblance to Clinton, you'd better believe that there were jokes to be made.
Only the game designers know for sure whether this is a coincidence or they really tried to sneak a mythical Clinton doppelgänger into their game. I wouldn't be surprised if they did. It certainly seems like something Clinton supporters would do: write dorky fan fiction about their favorite failed candidate.
