Delta Force Operator Gets Honest About SEAL Team 6 Rivalry, Shares Insane Laser Story

What is the truth behind the SEAL Team 6/Delta Force rivalry?

Delta Force and SEAL Team 6 are America's premier Tier One direct action units. SEAL Team 6 (also known as DEVGRU) comes from the Navy and Delta (also known as The Unit) is part of the Army.

The two units share a healthy and friendly rivalry after more than two decades of working together in the GWOT, and people often debate which unit is better. Personally, I think Delta Force has proven to be the better overall unit for a lot of reasons, but there's no question SEAL Team 6 operators are incredibly badass.

Delta Force vs. SEAL Team 6 explained.

Well, what does an actual operator think? I spoke with Dave Nielsen on American Joyride about the topic, and he had plenty to say. Dave - a great American - has a ton of respect for ST6, but thinks there's no doubt The Unit is better at CQB. He also shared a wild story involving a DEVGRU operator pointing a laser on his rifle at him.

You can watch Dave break it all down in the video below starting around 1:15:00, and make sure to hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

As you can see, Dave has a lot of respect for the Navy's Tier One element, but he's still picking his guys at the end of the day. For what it's worth, I've never heard a single Delta guy say ST6 is better in CQB, and I've even had a few ST6 guys tell me privately that the way Delta does things is faster. That's really all I can say on that because I'm not going to publicly discuss tactics.
