Dating Horror Stories Go Viral, Will Make You Want To Be Alone Forever

Have you ever experienced a horrific date?

Odds are that you've probably had a bad date here or there throughout life. Happens to the best of us. Dates can be tricky, you never know what a stranger might do and many people you go on dates with just won't be good fits.

No reason to sweat it. The best poor dating stories tend to become pretty funny down the road, and Reddit is booming right now with pure horror stories of things that went wrong on dates.

We just had a thread about realizing you're dating an idiot. This takes things to a new level.

Dating horror stories go viral.

You think you've had a bad date? The stories on the "What's the worst dating experience you had this year?" thread will have you cackling with laughter.

Check out some of the stories below, and hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com:

  • I met a girl on Tinder and agreed to meet in a cafe. When we met, she was on her phone all the time... But at one fine moment of silence, she said that her stomach hurt, and farted VERY loudly, paid for herself and left. I've never laughed so much in my life.
  • Went on a first date with a guy from my college. We ended up going to Chili’s for dinner and as I am coming back from the restroom after our meal, he seems nervous and is telling me to hurry to his car… I thought he was just being goofy. As we were driving away, he tells me he dined and dashed. I was mortified and told him I would have paid if money were an issue. He just laughed and kept driving. Awful experience and awful person.
  • I went on my first date since breaking up with my ex about 5 months before, went for pizza, was escorted to the table, sat down with my date and my ex was sat at the table next to us. I then went to a singles event not long after and my ex was there again...
  • In casual conversation, she talked about her roommate a lot. No problem, normal convo. The drinks start flowing and I hear more about the roommate. They are like....really close. A bit much but ok. By the end of the date - properly buzzed now - it turns out her roommate is actually.....her husband.
  • I took a girl out. Asked her what her interests were? "Don't have any." Any hobbies? "No" What do you do besides Uni? "Not much". Are you enjoying your course? "I don't really like talking about Uni". Followed by a long uncomfortable silence.
  • Haven't had a single bad experience all year. Haven't been on a date all year. (This made me laugh pretty hard.)
  • I went on a date with a man who told me he was married, in the middle of the date.
  • He turned up a foot shorter than he said and at least a decade older making it worse in tight white jeans Then as he came in tried to lunge at me to kiss me open mouthed. Dodged it and just left. Got a text saying was it the jeans?
  • Had a woman laugh at me when I asked her out. A no would've been preferable.
  • Met a girl on tinder her dad had just died, the first time i met her she asked me to go to his funeral.
  • I discovered that the guy I had been seeing for 6 months had lied to me about being single. Turns out he had been in a relationship of 6 years the whole time.
  • I took a girl to a free comedy show on a Tuesday night and here are some of the comedians lines directed towards me. "She is way too far out of your league", "you took her to a free comedy show, are you broke", oh you study Finance, boring shouldnt have talked to you" and last but not least "this relationship isnt gonna last". There wasnt a second date.
  • My fiance dumped me over text then blocked me on everything with no explanation last week.

Nightmare fuel. Pure nightmare fuel. Imagine your future wife dumping you with zero explanation and then blocking you on everything.

That's the kind of darkness I can't even imagine. How much therapy would you need in order to get through something like that?

The answer is a lot. Fortunately, I've been with the same saint of a woman for years. So, I can confidently say there have been no horror stories to share over the past year. Would be kind of concerning if there were.
